Hello,
Just saw that they will release another Painkiller at the end of october this year.
Painkiller: Hell & Damnation
I think there is no other game where they made so many "new" version to squeeze the money out of the customers.
But I am a big fan of the original fantasy-style of Painkiller with the unique weapons and ideas. It really was a gem and brought new breath into the genre. Also the gigantic bosses was a perfect idea.
The fact that they redo the same game again and again (with everytime less levels) makes it quite boring though.
The masses/hordes of enemies like in the game with a "serious" name
can also be boring if the level design does not match.
Anyway, this time they seem to use a different engine (Unreal 3) and kept faithful to their original gameplay.
Nevertheless, I am a great fan of the horror/fantasy like ambience (like old churches, etc) and monsters and the VERY unique sounds they use in Painkiller.
The sounds are a real ambience booster to the mystical idea of the game...
