Ruiner - Doom3 fantasy TC - WIP

Dear all,

I just revisited a link, that I bookmarked some time ago and thought I should mention it here: Ruiner

It is a Doom3 modification / Total conversion in a fantasy/nightmare universe. But my english is poor. Better read how the authors describe their work:

Ruiner is a dark, nightmarish, fast paced third person action modification for Doom3. the player fights hordes of the damned using unique weapons, abilities and spells.

It has clear influences from Heretic and Diablo and uses a lot of particle voodoo magic
I am really impressed by the look of the game.

There is a beta download available, that lets you play 5 levels, which keeps you busy for around 1,5 hours.

Game is still WIP.

Well, that looks interesting.
Apparently they have a moddb page as well, I like to follow the mods I like there, it's easier to organise and keep track on this site: Ruiner mod for Doom III - Mod DB

looks great. like the fact it turns its back on the stale base levels that mostly composed doom 3.

would love to try it, but the modDB download doesnt work, when the download should start i get 'file not found'

The beta has been downloaded 7 times today (which is a good number)
So I guess everything is OK with it.

For the interested ones:
The authors of this mod/TC are really nice people.
They even released a monster addon pack for Doom3, which contain some of their new ones. Download link can be found on their homepage (linked in 1st post).
Mappers/modders are welcome to use them in their own projects.

(Unfortunately I saw this addon too late, otherwise I would have loved to use that skull for the "small mod compilation"�s additional death animations. But it is never too late I guess...)

Hello splitterface,

You should change your internet browser if you still have problems downloading it.
Be sure to accept cookies and enable javascript for that page.
I just tested it again and it still works (use firefox).

nope, still cant download it. i keep getting 'file not found'

and i have cookies allowed and i dun have anything that blocks javascripts, and im using firefox myself
so no clue why the download doesnt seem to work for me



guess ill try later turning off adblock plus, mebbe that blocks it,
ive had it once before that stuff that shouldnt get blocked got blocked

nope, just tried and even with every single add-on turned off i get 'file not found' after the countdown at gamefront

strange, ive never ever had any problems downloading files from gamefront before
