  • ftp.sunset.se lost + now found

Due to an email from Spirit to the people at 3dgamers, there is now a new mirror of the vanished PlanetQuake idgames2 archive that was, for the most part, solely remaining at suneset.se

    ftp://archives.3dgamers.com/pub/idgames2/planetquake/

This is the huge archive of Quake files that once was at PlanetQuake that includes gigabytes of single player and deathmatch maps, mods, QuakeC and who knows what else.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

I always used to go to ftp.cdrom.com for my quake bot/mod downloads... Too bad it went down over 4+ years ago.

The timestamps for the 3dgamers.com site that Baker posted are all wrong as well.

Spirit: Who did you contact from 3dgamers? I can write a program to set the 3dgamers archive to the right file dates. 3dgamers just needs to tell me what OS and compilers and/or interpretters they have installed.

Didn't you mention before that your archive has the wrong timestamps as well Spirit? You could run the same program.

Okay, I'll send 3dgamers feedback when I'm done testing.

I couldn't find a free software tool to do it in Linux and win32.

I made a patch against wget 1.10.2 to add support for setting the timestamp locally. I know wget builds under cygwin and mingw but I haven't done it in a while. It compiles and runs fine in Linux though.

                    So do I

                    It rocks, doesn't it?
                    16:03:04 <gb> when I put in a sng, I think I might need nails
16:03:30 <gb> the fact that only playtesting tells me that probably means that my mind is a sieve

That's why I patched wget instead of writing my own program. Everyone uses wget. They have a development branch for 2.0. I'll try patching against the svn branch and see if they like it.

Spirit: It's done. Can I email it to you? It took me 3x as long to get it compiling fine in Windows (mainly the compiling and downloading the dependencies) as it did to write the code.

When you start it up (wget --version), it should display "Wget 1.10.2 + patch for remote timestamping".

Umm of course. I wouldn't patch it by default to do remote timestamping. I only want one binary.

                            Here's the patch: http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.com...t.patches/1664
