It just occurred to me that I had never seen the original Doom CD.

I tried Doom barely before Doom II and even though I got the full Doom II from a friend, I bought Doom II for real to support ID Software, so I have the Doom II CD.

Wow, that reminds me. I better keep my Doom II CD. I have my original 1996 Quake CD case, but lost the CD and had to buy Ultimate Quake (with Q2, Q3 too) to get back into the game in 2002.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

That CD isnt the original Doom CD, it's a re-release called the Doom Trilogy. The original Doom CD looks like the coverart, same with the Doom 2 disk.

The Doom2 cover art is some of the best cover art ever.

I look at it and still get filled with the phrase "shit thats cool" from head to toe.

It is great, but the original Doom's boxart I think is beautiful in capturing the hopelessness of the situation. I always loved that there was another marine running in the distance.

Well that captures the hopelessness of legion and horde.

Doom2s is the hopelessness of the significantly more powerful foes in an already decimated homeworld.

But Im biased, I played Doom2 first.

                            They're both equally good IMO.

I've always loved the 'DOOM' logo btw. It owns.
