If the name is important to you and you have used it for quite a while then I would probably take the view that unless its some sort of Quake legend (e.g. Mindzy, Thresh, Baker, Rook, Peg, Polarite, Sir Henry, etc ) wishing to use his own name, then the first one here on the forum or on the servers should probably get first choice

if you like your name, I'd say stick with it. however, if your looking for a change, note you have a good excuse lol. i like to modify my main handle from time to time. last was when i went from "syluxman2803" to "syluxguy28O3". different, yet the same. an evolution of sorts.

Obviously it is completely up to you, but IMO...

He's a metal worker, you CODE QuakeC.
He held it down at QuakeCon, hold it down actually in Quake.

I wouldn't dare place his accomplishments over or under your own, nor do I care to compare you guys to one another.

Until you mentioned his existence, I had no idea he even existed.
