Don't know if anyone's ever linked this, but this has got to be the most wicked Vore concept design I've seen. I think the mouth is a little exaggerated though, but the protruding spine is awesome. What do you guys think?
That variant looks way more capable of slashing or stabbing you with a leg.
Is it just me or was it odd that one of the more menacing looking monsters , the vore , was limited to a ranged only attack and no melee capacity.
Another thing I recall, is that on the map that used 3 or 4 vores as the episode boss, on the platforms at the round room, those guys could jump there, but I never seen them jump on any other map.
odd, I never thought about these things, and the Vore is my favorite enemy in Quake
I agree, the Vore was waaaayyy too wicked looking to only have some magical crap range attack. I modded some melee/jumping attacks for her once, that was a ways back but it would be neat to pick that back up, maybe tweak some of the other monsters and make them scarier/smarter/more intimidating.
@gnounc - wallclimbing
Yes! Absolutely. And when she dies, maybe a bunch of little ones chew their way out of her and attack. I thought the Voreling from Quoth was a really cool enemy. Squirrelly little bastards.
