Shrak uses id's textures but they apply them at runtime with a windows only binary. They did this to get around legal issues because their artist screwed up with his/her textures (looked fine in photoshop but not quake).
Does anyone know how this is done? I'm not very familiar with the quake engine or map format. I'm thinking about writing a Linux version of the shrak program if it is easy to do. I can't sink too much time into an old mod when I haven't even played Nehahra yet.
I found that you can do a workaround by installing running it in DOS and then copying the files over. If someone knows off the top of their head how to do it, I would still like to try to create a Linux version to avoid rebooting for a game (even if just once).
