  • Quakeboard.net / Gamestatus.net , gone ??

I went to check and see if any of the old IHOC mod quake players had returned to post on the forums, and got DNS failures for both of the websites.

I hope they aren't gone permanently, and I hope JackHole is okay. I haven't spoken to him in ages.I haven't spoken to Yugo2hecK in awhile either, but his website ihoc.net is still going.

As much as we dont want to see things go we must accept the fact that eventually one day these sites and games will be done and over. The only reason I am still hooked on quake is because its what I grew up with and no other games til this day can compete. The older I get the less interest I have trying to find games to enjoy. I have chosen other hobbies on my home time and though they cost me quite a bit of money such as shooting where ammo and guns are expensive and also just getting into RC style fueled planes and helicopters, I just dont see myself idling for a game of quake or wasting my time buying games and installing them just to not like them.

I wish they would remake quake in updated graphics with the same look and physics and lets rebuild what we once had, a player base.

I discovered someone working on a quake reboot tonight. I have asked him about featuring his project in the news.

I would be interested in seeing this. Are we able to petition Bethesda to remake quake just as it is but with completely upgraded graphics? The only thing they need to do is leave everything the same. They can add new maps and etc but leave the weapons and physics alone.

We could, but it would probably be like a single ant trying to move a car,and even if we convinced 1,000,000 ants to join in the effort, it would still be like 1,000,000 ants trying to move a car.

This was sent to me in my email yesterday and they discussed the fall of the arena shooter....

UT2015, the only modern arena shooter (to my knowledge) that even has a modernized bright future. I don't count QLive because that is basically just regurgitated Q3 Arena, and hardly qualifies it as a modernized arena shooter. Id installed new teats on their old cow and proceed to milk the new teats.

Not enough people to sign off on it. I mean if we could get 50,000-100,000 signatures that would be a start. I doubt we have the base for it though unless we use social media to kick start it. John Romero was just in Ireland on July 27th according to the ' quake page ' that Spirit runs on Facebook. Anyway I see 24,000 likes to that page word could spread fast for a petition and get signatures.

If someone could type it up in proper wording that would be great. I however am horrible at proper grammar.

                  My problem is ranting.
                  TLDR + TLDR = over 9000 TLDR

I wonder who is very eloquent on the forums?

I will get it rolling on social media if we could get it all setup with proper everything to submit.

Doesn't stop people from propping her up in the passenger seat, putting makeup on her and driving her around like she's trophy wife material.
