  • How to play multiplayer?

What is a modern engine with support for basic eye candy (high res textures, menus, etc) that is compatible with most servers out there?

I can't seem to figure it out.

Darkplaces would be the best option in my opinion.

Thanks! I was able to play some AGR for a bit.

How can I get a high-res menu? (I should note I dropped the engine files on top of a mess of other stuff).

Also, is there a way to have multiple engines setup in parallel folders, and then use the content files from some main folder? This is windows, btw.

If you want a hi-res menu, you will need to make a separate folder for Darkplaces, and get a mod, or use the Epsilon build content.

If you want to go in depth with Darkplaces, Cobalt knows a fair amount about it. I will point him to this thread.

As for running parallel folders, you can put each engine you have in its own folder, with and ID1 folder. I don't think that you can run mods and extra content from a separate folder, but I'm not sure. You could just install each mod into each engine's folder however.

          Good luck!
