  • Defying The Laws of Quake

Here is a funny experiment I am working on with a (crude) little map I'm making.

No glass in Quake? Whatever. Crappy colors only? Ok, if you say so, heh

    For entertainment purposes only:

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

I'd like to know how a dark, stoney, undercover area + a bench on grass defies the laws of Quake :-\

You make that bench yourself? Or a prefab? really nice if you made it by yourself.

Defy the laws of physics and you've impressed me.

        Can you say hammerspace?

Looks good to me. On the last pic, looks like there may be a couple of wall sconces providing the light.

I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

No. Although, I think there is a way to do this if I utilitized Nehahra functions but I've looked at the QuakeC source for Nehahra and it doesn't give me the impression that it is compatible with other QuakeC.

I can think of 3 or 4 things I wish that got ported to the Quake engine from Half-Life (which was, of course, very similar to Quake).

              1. Breakable glass
              2. Doors that rotate open
              3. Independent palette per texture
              4. Pushable objects

I just threw a random light source to see how the windows would react to light. It's not bad at all.

2 and 4 should be doable with a bit of hacking...
                  16:03:04 <gb> when I put in a sng, I think I might need nails
16:03:30 <gb> the fact that only playtesting tells me that probably means that my mind is a sieve
