    QRadio 8 (Season 2)

Sorry for the delay, I wanted this QRadio to be perfect

I've probably put around 5 hours into creating this 35 minute piece of art so you better enjoy it! This is how I think qradio should have been done after Bank's departure. It's long, but you can browse the QuakeOne forums while you're listening to it. I did my voice recording at 1:04am tonight. It's 5:14 now and I just finished creating the ogg file. My apologies if I was monotoned. I tried to follow Net-Tyme's advice and smile while I was speaking

I'd like to thank the following people for the support I was given:
    • Scar3crow
    • Grim (thanks for the heavy metal song)
    • D'rouen (thanks for the hug)
    • Baker
    • Polarite
    • Fuzznut (thanks for the 5 seconds )
    • Quadraptor (thanks for the 5 minutes )
    • ORL

Bank requested that you contact him if you want to host QRadio. You should do it, it's very fun! This is Canadian*Sniper, signing off.

And for the record, Baker and Bank are equally awesome except for the fact that Bank is +1

By far that was the best "Non-Bank-Hosted" Qradio so far!

It's nice to hear from everyone, especially with how spread out we all are:

    Sniper: British Columbia
    Scar3crow: Tennessee
    Grim: Saint Amant, Louisiana
    D'Rouen: Tennessee
    Baker: Columbus, Ohio
    Polarite: Belgium
    Fuzznut: Oregon (according to D')
    QuadRaptor: Mobile, Alabama
    ORL: New Jersey

(I hope I got those right)

When I sat down to put that little piece together, I mean I've never done anything like that before and I didn't even know where to start. I used the QRadio broadcast as a base.

The only thing that was set up for me was the mic. I use Ventrilo to speak with my brother that lives in Chicago and other friends in Louisiana.

Thanks Canadian for directing me to Audacity. Took me few minutes to get acquainted with the software but after 14 runs, I got it. 14 runs to get it where I was comfortable with it.

The song wasn't even an issue, it was the first thing that popped in my head. When I thought of "Bank", that's the one that came to mind.

It's "Walk" by Pantera, Vulgar Display Of Power (1992). Proabably a bit old school but that's the style I like.

        3. Walk

Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence
One step from lashing out at you...
You want in to get under my skin
        And call yourself a friend
I've got more friends like you
        What do I do?

        [Pre]
        Is there no standard anymore?
What it takes, who I am, where I've been
        Belong
You can't be something you're not
        Be yourself, by yourself
        Stay away from me
        A lesson learned in life
Known from the dawn of time

        [Chorus]
        Respect, walk

Run your mouth when I'm not around
        It's easy to achieve
You cry to weak friends that sympathize
Can you hear the violins playing you song?
Those same friends tell me your every word

        [Pre]

        [Chorus]

        Are you talking to me?
        No way punk

C*S, you did a fantastic job! I can't imagine it being any better.

Polorite, I really want to hear a QRadio with you hosting. Your accent is awesome.

I will find you... it's only a matter of time.

Folks, I have to say that this was one of the greatest pieces of radio, no, greatest things I've ever had the privilage to listen to. It was beautiful, it was sentimental, and was obviously a great work of effort and love.

If anything has ever meant more on this big world we call the internet to me than this I'd challenge you to mention it.

All of your comments, jokes, statements, and even letters of appreciation made a huge impact on me. I'll be honest and say that it brought Bank to tears.

So folks, for all who were involved and for all who I've had the pleasure of meeting, it's been a great run.

I'd like to personally thank Canadian*Sniper, Quadraptor, Polarite, Scar3crow, Fuzznut, D'rouen, Baker, ORL, and of course the community as a whole (that means you Mindz!)

I had a wonderful time listening to it and wish the best to the community, you guys are definitely not ruining America.

                Peace, Love, and Quake-
                Colin "Bank" Kelly

PS- Next person to make a Bank soundboard gets a cookie!
"It's called being awesome, maybe you should try it." -Bank

Im at work right now so I cant listen to it, but I get off in a little bit... Ill give it a listen then.

Yes, I was raised in northeast TN, but all of the locals dont believe that I am and always ask where Im from (just a month ago someone approached me asking "Are you Canadian?"). Im looking forward to hearing Polarite just cause I am a fan of the accents in that region.

Until then, I must rain fire upon the hordes for the capitalization of the s!

But yeah, I'll listen when I get home tonight.

but I would try it if I had anything worth saying..

I couldn't be loud. My gf was sleeping upstairs 0_o The closest thing you'll get for a ROAR is my tripped out "HERE WE GO" where I covered my mouth with my hands.

Bank, glad you liked it! Someone else make a QRadio now!

I plan to make at least two more Qradios, but as of right now I have so much going on that I think it would be better for someone else to continue it for now.

I'll let you guys know when I have a good opportunity to make one.

Heh, I just now did more than skim the posts and noticed D'Rouen is from Tennessee as well, brings the Quake fans in TN I know up to 4 (others being myself, my brother, and biff, one of the mappers over at celephais/#terrafusion).

Ive toyed with the idea of doing a QRadio, its just a matter of... content. Oh well, not much left in this shift and then I will give it a listen and see where Canadian*Sniper took it and see if I can derive something different out of it.

Hey my brother's fiancee lives up there, and on October 2nd he's moving up there too, so you'll have more "quake players" up there (he used to play oldschool RQ under the name PostMan, but lately of course he's been preoccupied with his Fiancee. He loves FVF, though [and his favorite class is the Cyborg]).
