You need a WiFi card (or a Wireless Network Card,or is this the same thing?)
I'm moved in with my family and I am not sure if this laptop or the Desktop PC in the bedroom have WiFi or a wireless card,I would say if either of desktop or laptop have that its the laptop. I wont know until I check into it some more but for now ima attempt putting my old 56k into the desktop pc in the bedroom. Im going to install it tommorow,I will still be around but not heavily as usual.

Well LittleFatDog uses a usb wireless router. I'm guessing it would go in a usb port. It should be fast enough, usb can do well over 2mb/sec, and you shouldn't need that much. Try it.

i'll go hpb and play you mindz, pinging 20 sucked. i loved never losing when i was hpb. pissed off everyone more. of course i never lost as a 20 pinger.. but just more amusing raping everyone at 200+ ping.

I tried Quaking as an HPB last night (tried e.ihoc.net server was empty,ping was stable,tried bomber.quakeone.com and chi.nailed.org,pings was outrageous and I always lost connection to server!)

I'm perfectly capable of coping with an HPB ping,it would just take some practice getting used to the ping again.We're taking the laptop back to the place where she got it this week so we can free up a little over a $100 a month , which will be good. I'm re-registered with a staffing service called @work personel services,and im hoping to get a 3rd shift job at the same place she works,if not I'm going to hit up the yellow pages for Hardwood Flooring buisness's,or Ceramic Tile buisness's since I already pretty much can do all that shit,regaurdless I *will* be returning to Q1 as a LPB,when that happens is the key words/question

Anyways im going to make a post about any types of settings/etc that I can change or adjust to get a stable ping (I would be happy with 200-300!!!) using my old dial-up modem,and hopefully some DU geniouses or X-DU Quakers can throw me some tips,because I havent been HPB since like freaking 2001 or 2002 , and I'm unsure of what I can and cant do!!

I have no idea bro, I've never used it or been able to play with it,because I dont have ne wireless shit,but hopefully a homie of mine has me covered on that,he said he might has a usb wireless 'thingy' laying around,it would be ultra nice if there is a wireless network in my area. One thing for sure that I know,is that LinkSys router's with wireless capabilities come wireless pre-turned on, and not only that,the default password for the linksys routers are all the same so its 2ez if anyone around here has a LinkSys router.

Perochi , I noticed my Ping was horrid like yours,but when I turned my FPS down to like 30-45 , it was near-respectable around 250.You should try this, if my FPS is set to 72,my ping goes ape-shit,and thats the default FPS for Quake !!! someone let Perochi/Bluntz know this
