  • Quake on Facebook

So I created a group for Quake on Facebook. The group is global so anyone from any community can join it, just do a search for Quake and it should come up as the first result. Only 7 people are in it currently, but I dont know how many of you use Facebook in the first place since its 99% for the college student crowd (and thus requires an edu email address to sign up for).

For those who dont know, Facebook is like myspace only safe, not annoying, doesnt let people do stupid crap with their profile and is actually useful for things other than sleeping with 11 year olds and committing suicide.

So yeah, Quake on Facebook. I only invited 1 person to join, the other 5 found it on their own, so people are out there looking for one on occasion apparently.

I made a quake 1 group on myspace

I agree about myspace being amateur porn, lol. Its amazing how slutty some of the pics those girls put up. But its a good thing, so I'm happy.

Id argue its depressing, but this isnt the place for an ethics debate.

I tried registering to facebook.com and it told me my email (gmail) isn't supported by any of the companies in their list.

          suggestions?

It says I need an invite from someone at my school. and I have no idea how to get a hold of any of those people listed.

As I mentioned in the first post, Facebook requires an institutional email to sign up, as it is intended for students. Not every school is supported, but theyre getting there. You need to use your student email for the initial setup.

I dont know how they do it for the highschool students exactly, since thats a new part of their network.
