    cant seem to locate the bit about McGee currently, but it is noteworthy he did the sound along with Xian and Soundelux Media Labs. Quake uses a lot of stock sounds (zombie groan, ogre awakening is the same as Duke3d's pigcop, the various water dripping sounds, so on).

    we also have the fact that Romero did a lot of the sound effects for Doom2, citing the Revenant punch sound which he chose to be intentionally humorous.
