It has the best graphics an engine can offer right now. It's really amazing. My vote goes to Qrack.

Joao, if your sentiment is graphics, then I recommend you try other engines before making such a claim. Seriously.

          No offense R00k.

Yes, the graphics may be beautiful but I prefer old fashioned Proquake (which got my vote). Otherwise I use Qrack for FVF/RQcoop.

ProQuake. Whether it be win or gl, ProQuake is the pro choice.

I voted, but I think DarkPlaces is the best coded quake client. DP has the most features and supports a wide range of mods / platforms.

Proquake. i dont give half a shit about graphics when functionality is at stake. i love the console commands proquake has to offer.

                  pq_waterblend 0 is godly.

Darkplaces screws up badly in some aspects...

                    AguirRe's glquake for the win!

Proquake is good too. If I could vote twice, it would be Qrack and ProQuake. Well, graphics are important too.

ProQuake does NOT have bad graphics, because Quake was released in 1996 and it has excellent graphics for that year.

Not only graphics. But it's much better to have a nice designed game than a poor designed one. But I agree gameplay is more important than graphics.

I havent even tryed 3/4 of those engine's. I think i tried joequake years ago but i never could get it to work.

After seeing screen shots of qrack i had to try it out and usually flip back and forth between that and the proquake standard.

But my fav engine was ping quake nothing like booting up and having 'ping' show 20 or 30 lower difference even if it was contested that it was just a fake ping ...no way to know for sure but the lower pings always LOOKED nice.

Joao - Yes, but these engines are all loading Quake so the issue of gameplay isnt really up for debate unless you want to argue that Quake isnt fun.

At which point I'll beat you to death with one of Spirit's runes.

For me engines go like this:

Darkplaces for singleplayer, deathmatch, ctf and mods
                              FTE for Team Fortress
FitzQuake for mods and maps if they arent quite behaving right in Darkplaces (the only thing that Ive encountered is some items in secret areas not appearing).
Havent tried aguirRe's engine, but knowing his rep Im sure its tasteful and good.

Ive tried pretty much all the other engines, and dont really find them to be worth my time... I just find the graphical ones to be mostly tasteless and the others to be redundant in use.
