  • NetQuake IRC Channel: #netquake @ irc.quakenet.org

Ive put up a NetQuake IRC channel. Join us at

    #netquake
    irc.quakenet.org

The reason Ive put up an IRC channel is that there are still active NetQuake players and that there is, as far as I know, no NetQuake IRC channel left. So come join us at #netquake at QuakeNet. Will be fun to have a hangout again.

    Good Windows IRC client:
     mIRC - http://www.mirc.com

You can configure this IRC client so that it will only have a try icon. Connect it on Windows startup. So if you haven't installed an IRC client, download it and join us.

Ah, never been to GameSurge.net. But c'mon there must be a NetQuake channel on QuakeNet, that has always been the case. QuakeWorld is also represented on QuakeNet

The channels on GameSurge are already established. I'd recommend sticking with GameSurge... just my opinion.

When I do jump on IRC to ask/talk about Quake related material I spend most of my time on QuakeNet. People in most of those channels tend to actually talk about the Game/New Enhancements/Clients/Mods/Tourneys and general Quake related material. IRC is cool, but it was much better when the channel you joined actually had material in it regarding the topic. Most channels nowadays are just #chat with a different name.

If I wanted to talk about other stuff I would join #sports, #cars, #usuckatquake, #playstation, #fuckoff, etc. Just my opinion, but I've jumped on the Gamesurge channels a few times and rarely see any conversation Quake related.

I'll normally stop by #q1ca when a tourney is running just to see how things turn out. That's about it.
