  • Quake tiles?

Is there anywhere to find Quake themed tiles for games like hero quest or other board games? Is there a quake editing program that would let someone make a map and print an overhead top-down view of the map? I'm trying to make a quake themed board game and I'm looking for some sort of editor or already made tiles to make top down overhead view maps for the game. Does anyone know where I can find any of this?

How do you want areas that are above and below each other (but not the same room) to be displayed?

I'm only looking to make single level maps. I'm not planning on making levels for Quake the pc game, I'm trying to make levels for a Quake themed board game. If a level would have rooms above another, then it would be made as a separate map as a second story. But, as I said, I'm really only looking to make single story levels.

if you wanted to be cheap about it, you could just make the map in that way in a Quake map editor, texture it as you wish, or even make some geometry beyond the basic layout, put in lights to make it not quite flat, save, compile, load in Quake, and fly over it taking screenshots at a high resolution and then using those to print out as a piecemeal bit for creating the physical tile chunks.

really cheap and hacky, but hey, you get to make the layout in an editor... ive not played Hero Quest in 14 years iirc.

Yeah. Pretty much just like that only not exactly square. And probably overlay a grid on top of it or hexes. How did you do it? The same way that scar3crow described?

Peg's screenshot makes me think of that Mah-Jong Tile game.
