    Finally, it's done. Link: dm3again

    The map is being added to servers and download packs (probably) so I'm not going to make any changes in order to keep it consistant for all players.

      Im glad to see some of the original designs elements included.

      Questions: megahealth outside? Unless Im missing something I need to rj to get to it, which makes it a damage only route - as opposed to the original where you can take the slow damageless route, or rj to it.

      The outside is really dark, despite the presence of flourescent light textures - it didnt look to have any light entities affixed to them.

      On the platforms leading up to that area, I see you can just walk back to the atrium level, or continue up the normal path to drop down - but I saw no reason up there to go that route, its slower and is audible, perhaps put a YA or GA in there or at least rockets?

      I like the connection from the crate room megahealth back to the entrance, as it means you can also enter the room from above like that. The lowering of the crates is cool, though using the tech textures with them at that height looks kind of odd (at the original size it gave the impression of some wonky computer mainframe).

      I like the water entrance to the rl room, and the slits from the ssg area looking into the water, also the window overlooking the gl drop as seen in the original design.

      I have no take on the water texture, I neither like nor dislike it, merely noticed it.

      The sky change is a huge overhaul in the look that simultaneously doesnt really interfere that much. Good simple change.

      The ra room at the bottom floor having the wall in the middle by the rocketpack instead of covering all but one side is nice - and you left the overhanging lip above the doorway which is cool.

      All in all I like, my only qualms are:
      • Lighting in pent area
      • Pent area megahealth
      • Nothing to be found in the peak platform area
      Inside3d - Because you can't be Outside 3D!

        You can jump from the ledge under the window to that platform, but you have to time it perfectly. Can be done with a 60-70 ping on netquake, still.

          To get the megahealth, you have to jump from that ledge underneath the window. It's not too easy...

          I forgot to upload/link the source, because the dm3 source I used is GPL'd. But, here it is: source The compiled map is not within this zip.

          Yes, the lighting is supposed to be dark, but turns out I deleted the light entities when I removed the football field, so you will need to redownload the the map to get the update. Good thing you were on now to see that problem early on!

            Hrmm, tried the jump a few times with no success. So I conclude that I dont like it - only because it simplifies what was already there and makes it harder as well. The original design in this case looked a little more natural and had the work of exposing yourself for the MH, or as players discovered, the damage for the reward via rocketjumping.

            The pent area looks a lot better with the lights now, its still dark, but no longer too dark.

            So, not a fan of the megahealth placement and, I still think a small/medium reward should be at the top of that last lift, to make it worth the audio exposure and slowness. But yeah, I like it. Enough to where I kinda want to do FBX waypoints for it just to play em in it.

              The map looks very nice and I much prefer the sky and the water to DM3. Although I haven't played the map in CA, I have never liked the SNG boxes and the RL area and it looks like these changes would lead to more interesting and less linear play.

              I can't do the jump to the mega-health with RJ'ing it. I haven't tried any tricks to increase my speed slightly. There is also a glitch of some sort where the brush the megahealth sits on meets the slanted brush next to it.

                  i noticed a few area's where a little more attention to detail wouldnt hurt..

                  when u drop down into the water at RL (the new bit) and look up when ur at the bottom, u'll notice a gap there that doesnt seem to have any function and just looks like it should be closed..

                  if u proceed to swim towards the pent area, just befor u go out of the water, the ceiling texture looks odd, as it goes from solid to liquid..

                  right below the megahelth in the pent-area there is the same gap i mentioned earlier but here u have closed it.. however it would have looked better if the same texture as the rest of the floor was used i think..

                  at the ledge that runs from the lifts towards the megahealth in the pent-area (below the window) u get blocked by the wall that is sticking out just a fraction.. wich makes it kinda pointless, if u want to get from the lifts to the megahealth via the ledge that is.. (sure it makes it possible to rj twice to get into the window, instead of rj+gj)

                  other than that i'd like to see how it plays on CAx, good job!

                  at least it makes a difference from playing dm3 over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

                    to jump to mega get on the ledge from the lifts, walk along the ledge but after u hit the mid point (u kinda hit a corner between watertunnel and pent window), start strafing right against the wall, and you'll gain speed

                    It's nice that this map is the same size but seems bigger by its little twists and turns good job!

                        You don't need to land on the slant, but it makes it a tad easier. You can land right on the top platform right where the megehealth is.

                            Zop - demo link just took me to the frontpage of runequake.

                            Just tried r00ks run while strafing against the wall jump, and that worked, put me right on the megahealth - also jumping for the slope next to it does the trick as well. Still not a huge fan though because I think it would be cooler with that, or with a slope going to it thats long.
