    I just finished making all of the original ID map waypoints for Frikbot X. Except for Ziggurat Vertigo, of course (frikbots do not understand gravity changes)

    Waypoints are simply paths that the bot follows throughout the level. The Frikbots can function without waypoints, but they don't navigate the level well at all.

    Frikbot X is, in my opinion, the best quake bot around. Frogbot only comes close, however, frogbots do not have any map support and making waypoints for them is no piece of cake. They can't swim in water and they don't understand lots of triggers such as buttons.

    extract to quake\frikbot\maps and spawn some bots.

    Although I'm not going to be using them (I don't "practice" against bots), you did a very cool thing

      I use them because no one plays DM anymore. And if they do, its the same boring map(s) over and over again. They actually give me a challenge at skill 2. (depends on what map though )

          thanks for the comments, I'll probably keep making waypoints for custom-DM maps. If you have any maps that want to be waypointed, just tell me.

            But yeah this definitely got a news post - it makes a bigger splash than youd think, as it improves the bots of not just the FBX dl, but any mod which uses Frikbots (they were designed to plug into mods after all) which is why on the I3D news post I instructed people to unzip it to id1/maps, so any mod can benefit from it.

            I personally play with FBX and Gyro physics, its small changes but its nice.

              not entirely off topic, but it would be cool to have a TDM mod that acted similarly to CRMOD TDM except it was players vs bots. Basically all the players join up in their one team and then the mod determines how many bots to put in (matching the number of players) and begin TDM! Man vs Machine We could use monster's waypoints for it so it's like we're fighting a bunch of monsters

              Just a random mod thought

                Well, FBX is open source, and can work on NQ servers iirc. =)

                    FBX can be plugged into any mod with as few as 5 lines of code.

                    I never knew that foqer knew I made waypoints. Weird heh

                          Thanks Phen. If there are any specific maps you would like to be waypointed, just tell me. DM Maps are much more simpler to do than SP. (most of them dont have complicated switches, buttons, lifts, etc.)

                            If you used the runebot version of FBX they use the hook and can go anywhere in any gravity setting.
