Dredd Server Update
Things are really starting to take shape at the Dredd Server.
For the 5th night in the last 8 days, Dredd maxxed out at 10 players for a while around midnight and remained busy for probably a 2 stretch.
During much of the time that Dredd had 8-10 players, Rage usually had about 9-12 players so the server is generating interest in players playing it, as opposed to just draining players from somewhere else.
One thing that was different about last night is that unlike all previous occasions, no one went to other servers (Rage, Shmack) to recruit players. Players just showed up.
Popular Maps
Since more maps have been added to the map rotation, a few new maps have been given the "two thumbs up" by players and a couple maps have been given the thumbs down.
Very Well Received Maps
Gendm1 - 8 to 10 players - almost universally liked by everyone who has played it. It got played 4 times in a row by demand on the weekend. It is very easy to move around undetected on this map: the question IS --> does anyone on the other team realize where you are! If they do, you are in deep **** because you will be pinned down.

EFDM10 - Ideal for 6 players or less; more would be crowded. Excellent map for smaller games.

CHESDM1 - This map is like a more spacious UltraV and seems to work for any number of players without being too crowded or too big.

GMDM1 - Known as the "slime" map. You will HATE it the first time you play it. Then the 2nd time, you'll love it. Don't fall in the slime -- you won't be killed by slime -- players know to start raining a barrage of rockets into the slime if they hear you fall in.

REINC5 - The "Void" Space Map. Looks simple enough at first and unchallenging. Play it 3 times and you will realize how truly intense the map is, it has a couple of teleporters and windtunnels. Ironically, this makes the top of the map a very dangerous place to be, which is not obvious at first.

ASYLUM - Must have at least 8 players, more = better. This map has only been tried once, with 10 players -- and it was very exciting to play.

JRDM1 - The QJ Clan loves this map. Somehow I always get shot from behind on this map. Very difficult to defend yourself.

CAx Issues
We are aware of 2 CAx issues that cause the server to, in the first case, crash (it is related to a specific map and that can be fixed, I think Rook has already fixed it in the next version).
The second case happens rarely and the server doesn't crash, but needs restarted.
Fortunately, both of these problems are rare, but unforunately this does mean the server does require a little bit of administration periodically.
Hopefully the unsolved issue from above will be figured out, until then we'll just have to restart it in the rare circumstances that it occurs (I've never seen that problem happen firsthand yet.)
