What are some of the best small (2-4 player) DM maps? I know there've been thousands of DM maps created, and it's all down to personal preference etc, I'd just like to hear some people's favourites outside of the standard DM maps.

Aerowalk ! So fun to trick people and come up behind them on that map. Not sure if its my absolute favorite... havent tried all of the DM maps. I've tried about 75% of the Dredd maps on DM with frikbots (I'm in the process of waypointing those ) and some of those are pretty fun.

What kind of gameplay are you talking about? For 2v2 team DM, ztndm3 is really good. For free for all, my personal favorite is a map called trimp, preferrebly with deathmatch mode 3 (weapon stay and ammo respawns in 15 sec); this harkens back to when I played on the kitty1.stanford.edu ffa server.

I stumbled across dm8 when I joined a euroquake server to remind everyone that the whitehot beta test was happening in a few hours. So it was either gchq.quake1.net, bigfoot.quake1.net, or both.

Aerowalk seems to be pretty popular, seems to be on regular rotation at gchq... I've been playing on it a bit, it's a good level, plenty to learn.

DM8 looks very DM4ish, I'll definitely check it out.

I was after FFA maps, really. Keep them coming!

i love aerowalk.. im pretty damn good at it too, hence most of the community wont play me on it.. UltaraV is a good level for 1v1 as well. when you learn both of these levels you can control the other players position and dominate.
thats how i always win in aerowalk, i control where i want them to go "normally".. the odd person plays different then i expect and it throws me off a bit, but i still win

I figure you already know this, but both of those maps are on dm.clanhdz.com.

So would I On Aerowalk. Aerowalk and UV are great in CA, but in dm I 'd have to say ztndm3 (love it in CA too).

I do already know this, Baker, and i've played ztndm3 on said server b4. Trimp, however, is harder to get ppl to play, and it's really not that great for 1v1 or 2v2; it is fun to play in pmode or ffa, preferrably dmm3.

On a side note, is there any way to change the deathmatch (dmm1, dmm2, dmm3) in crmod? Satan/classic (polarite's brother) and I tried changing the deathmatch settings on nj1.suroot.com:26001, but to no avail; the manula says to use dmset, but this was not doing anything for us, even after we gave ourselves admin

My understanding is that to change the deathmatch mode in CRMOD, you have to either have rcon (server console access) or modify the server config.

                          However, I'm no CRMOD expert.

If I am right, this sucks because DMM1 is how I think 1 on 1 should be played but DMM3 is how FFA should be played.

Polarite might know for sure. I don't have any special knowledge of CRMOD other than what I know from typing "commands" in the console or viewing the docs @ crmod.com

I tested it out with vis on dm.clanhdz.com and it is simply the command dmset. However, you have to be admin, and it looks like vote-admin doesn't have enough priveleges to use dmset.
