  • Outlined Polygons

A while ago, I was browsing this site, and I came across a screenshot that looked really great! I'm kind of a noob at the whole gaming thing, but I think it was either a screenshot of a client, or some map textures.

Anyway, In this screenshot, everything was really smooth, and all the polygons were outlined with black lines. It looks awesome, and I want to see if my computer can handle Quake looking like that, but I can't seem to remember where I saw it. : S

    Any ideas?

Id say youre referring to a shot from Qrack which can be found in the various links on the site.

Im not a fan of the style, though it does look great in Q2 which has more of an openly cartoon style.

download qrack then try this in your config.cfg or autoexec.cfg (inside ~quake/qrack):

      bind "F12" "+tron"
      alias +tron "r_outline 2;wait;gl_textureless 1;wait; bind f12 -tron"
      alias -tron "r_outline 1;wait;gl_textureless 0;wait; bind f12 +tron"

Excellent! This is exactly what I wanted. : )
I love the style, but I have to put it on high quality to make water/lava/portals look decent. It slows my computer down. : (

        Thanks guys.
