  • Looking for specific mod

I seem to recall a mod that I played some years ago where your Quake Marine (and everyone else) appeared as a miniature inside what was a HUGE arena that was modeled to look like a living room. I'm also fairly certain there were other "rooms" or places in this mod. For reference, your character appeared to be about 2 inches tall when compared to the other objects in the room.

Was this even Q1 or am I thinking of another game?

Sounds sort of like a Christmas map I played once, but I know that isn't it.

PadMan for QIII was exactly like what you described. (And well worth a quick chuckle).

UT2003/2004 has a popular map set like that.

Ok... sorry to dig up an old thread, but I started it and it seemed logical to post back here with a follow up.

Originally I thought this might have been a Quake map, but after I got the UT2004 dedicated server up and running, I realized this map I'm still looking for is probably an Unreal map. Baker, I think you are right, in that it was a Christmas map.

Any ideas on where I should look for this map?

(Sorry, I realize it's the wrong forum and even the wrong game for this kind of question, but the UT forums I've found are run by 12 year olds.)

Incidentally, thanks to the help here, my dedicated Quake server is running well from the many suggestions I got here and over at runecentral.

Didn't the game "Sin" have some maps like you're describing? Where you're essentially on the same scale as a mouse.

Actually, there was a mod called shrimp, where as a player would be 1/4 the size of the original player model, i'm not too sure about the specifics, yet I do have the 1/4th scaled down player.mdl with full animations! Its cool i wondered about making a mod using that model ;P

Presumably with a modded engine you could include a scale value in the setmodel function, I imagine that would be cool as .

SantaClaws' turn based speedmod which played like a board game made use of self.scale, which was kinda fun. Iirc it even changed it over time, so you had that Expanding effect you see in cartoons and such for things turning into giants.

That would be kinda funny to see people with Quad gain 1.5x size
