Quakeone.com and the staff/players/visitors/all of it, is meant to keep the community alive. Quakeone.com is meant to keep ties strong, and to keep the game going.

It is DEFINATELY a tragedy that there has been this recent split of views, etc.

There IS NO dredd vs rage, there is only Quake.

It's downright rediculous how some of you are acting, and how some of you are portraying what we all stand for.

I can remember when everybody was basically on the same page, and there wasn't this war of servers, or war of who did what first.

Get a grip on yourselves.

This isn't a popularity challenge, popularity ended after 12th grade.

It's fucking sickening to see what is going on at this site these days.

It's even more sickening to see how some of you are boycotting each others servers. Stop acting like you're 12 and pull back together and stop being like this.

Everybody should promote each OTHERS servers, and nobody should make it some competition.

I'm not going to point out names because you know damn well who the fuck you are.

And maturity? I'm seeing more maturity out of the younger people on this forum/site than I'm seeing out of some of the "old timers" of quake. What the fuck is wrong with you all?

What we are all doing is for a greater cause than who the fuck has the better server, who the fuck is more cool, who the fuck has played longer, or who the fuck is better than who.

We all appreciate everything we've all done for Quake and 75% of you are too fucking proud to admit it.

Get a grip and come to the terms with the fact that this all started for one reason: to keep quake alive. You are all fucking killing it with your nonstop arguing and your nonstop hate.

Fuck you all if you want to continue to be like that, you show that the roots of Quakeone.com mean nothing.

But seriously, I said it before and I'll say it again. I play on both servers and can't say that I'd choose 1 over the other. We all should be glad and pee our pants from excitement because we have different servers that bring different things/options to the table. What Chad said is rough but true. It's not about what is better and if someone doesn't like something no1 makes him/her do that (play there in this case). It's all about preferences and having fun. I know I am having fun. Are you?

I have no problem what so ever with Rage.
I have no problems with Yellow, Mindz, Vis, Ava, R00k, anybody.

I am a very nice person I think since I am willing to pay out of my pocket to help the community grow in anyway I can help. one of my main reasons for Dredd was simple because I follow the motto of "If you don't like how its done do it yourself" and seeing as how Rage was/is continiously full why not have an alternative CA server for those who choose to play alternate maps and ease up the stress of one server trying to please everyone (Rage).

Opening Dredd wasn't EVER meant to be a replacement for Rage, which is why I tried to stray as far away from Rage's "niche" as much as possible (custom maps) this isn't to spite Rage or any of its players which Rage does have some wonderful people playing on it and always promoting it, I was one of the main promoters I also helped usher in many of the PSP-Players if you remember. My idea of a community is "If you are able to help, its your duty to help if you are truly a part of that community."

Growing a community means reaching out and embracing new people, ideas and ways of thinking, not closing the door once you have had your personal fill. Its an ongoing group of people working towards the same relative goal and building it so that more people come and enter the community not a hidden society that you need a membership for but a real life open community is meant to spread its knowledge of its purpose!

I only don't back down because I feel in my mind that I am 100% right and I will fight for what I believe in, but, I refuse to go on any longer with this feeling of hate and disbelief in the air. I am washing my hands of all the negative things in the past and embracing the future. I will continue to do what I think is right in a community that accepts me. Not a community that shuns me. I don't expect popularity because of how many servers I run. I'm not trying to be bigger then anyone else, I don't expect to be, I expect everyone to understand that besides all the server drama and personal drama between the communities people that thats what we are human beings trying to have fun! Why did it have to ever come to this.

Some of you noticed that I just stopped responding to negative comments in other threads, because, I'm through with it I don't hate anybody and never have. I have definitely not believed in other's beliefs but thats life.

If you are able to help the community grow, do it. If not, then try to be the best sport you can! Its the only way to make Quake survive! I know theres a saying that goes "Hate and shit talking is integrated into Quake" Which is fine, some people hate without reason, other understand what hate is, some really don't care and just want to see whats new with the community. But when they see a tragedy they see a tragedy, and we all know what Quake 1 is becoming.

I will not be a part of Quake 1's death and I hope no one single person out there chooses this path either. Its time to leave the immaturity at the door, Many of us are grown men & women and KNOW what has to be done in order for this to work!

I've said it befor and I'll say it again, Rage is not Dredd, and Dredd is not Rage. That was done on purpose, not to piss anyone off but to offer more to the community because I am able.

P.S I don't push Dredd on people, they play because its fun, when they want to play something else, they go to Rage, Shmack, CRMOD, IHOC etc, its because thats what they want to do! People tend to make their own choices and giving them more then 1 choice doesn't benefit anyone but that person who makes the choice.

When viewpoints conflict,and others have their heads so far up other peoples asses,they blindly and faithfully discount someone's viewpoint for being a bit peeve'd over,for a more precise example,my viewpoint. I played at both Dredd and Rage like Taxi has stated,but lately it became when I showed up,it was a "Dont worry,I wont tell yellow mindz" type commentary coming from the Dredd frontman, Phenom. I asked him what his problem was, and eventually I was told "I need to quit suckin on yellows dick" , and after that I asked him wtf his problem was,and he proceeded to tell me "Its not his problem,its my problem".I showed up to Dredd to play some Quake at Dredd,not have Phenom give me shit for my preferences of Quake or CAx. I showed up at Dredd to play just like when I show up at CRMOD,the CRMOD community doesnt even give me shit,but Phenom has a agenda and either you fucks cant see it or wont see it.

Phenom has made this a Rage vs Dredd on many accounts, and typically its always occured on Rage.I've seen Phenom connect to Rage just to disrupt gameplay because he is "Bored" with Dm3,and doesnt find it fun,or whatever his reasonings are,and run around with a Axe or Boomstick,generally fucking off and not helping his team he's on,while at the same time,downtalking DM3 players and promoting Dredd/asking for people to go to Dredd at the same time.


You dont like whats going on lately? So why is it that Quake is always divided up into this and that? I mean, we're supposed to be QuakeONE, as in a whole community and not a bunch of sub-communities.

It's like the RuneQuake navy is fighting the Dredd-division army and the Rage-division army, who are fighting each other as well as the DM/CTF marines (and then there's the FVF/Coop coast guard ). Instead of waging war with each other, we all should be united as one military.

Who cares whether Dredd is better or Rage is better? They're both equally good servers and should both be played by CA players.

In any event, I doubt there will ever be an unbiased opinion on the matter, since everyone's gotta claim loyalties to one server or the other.

Hehe :-D To me it seems a bit ridiculous really. I'm pretty certain that individuals can't kill Quake. Very simple. It's a classic game. Even when all of you are gone from the servers, and when quakeone.com is gone, there will still be people playing Quake (and its descendants, like Cube/Nexuiz/Warsow etc). No other FPS comes close to it.

Also, please don't overlook that Runequake/CA/RA/whatever is not the Quake community. There will be mappers and modders, and players, for years to come. You (North American NQ multiplayer people) are mistaking yourselves for QUAKE.

I hereby promise to release at least a handful of cool maps in the next two to four years. There are many others who are still producing content for the game, among them top-notch professionals. We just saw the GPL release of the maps. And since Quake is one of a handful of games that successfully defeat my attempts at banishing them from my hard drive, I will keep on playing it. And there are dozens of people like that. If not hundreds. Who cares what servers they are on, if any. In the future, knocking up a Quake server will just become easier.

And Quake is open source. The number of projects drawing from the Quake code will just increase over time.

People are still playing Doom, Ultima, even Leisure Suit Larry. Linux freaks are running SNES emulators to play Chrono Trigger, old Final Fantasy, Super Mario... Oxyd... Diablo, Starcraft...

Quality survives. It's irrelevant how many people are doing whatever now on what servers or forums. No matter what, you can't kill a classic. Those games are a piece of pop culture, like the Beatles. They will probably survive all of us, especially since the game industry has turned to copying instead of innovating. Eventually, some people will always discover the real thing. It's a grassroots thing. There are probably Quake players that none of us have ever heard about. There are people playing it over LAN.

I mean they are still playing *Nethack*. Imagine that. A game that doesn't even have real graphics, and is updated about every few years.

What *are* people complaining about? Wake up.

I dont have a huge problem with Phenom being a fuckhead,I've known him for about 6-8 years on the internet since the IHOC gaming days,longer than most of you all have known him, except for maybe the likes of JackHole,Yugo2hecK and InvincibleDrone.
My problem is that there is this constant ordeal of Phenom stirring the shit debate between Rage vs Dredd in-server,returns to the forums to pretend its not a "Rage vs Dredd" ordeal.

Only one person had the respect to message me and tell me that they see where I am coming from,and that I shouldnt let one's actions stop me from playing at Dredd,but the actions of one dont make up for the blind stupidity of other's,namely Baker and Frenzy.I expect Phenom to be a fuckhead,I've known him long enough what to expect,I should have known what to expect when I helped him create clan SNS as supposed "Co-Leaders" with equal leadership,he became a fuck and decided "It was his clan" , and I told him he can have it.Same song and Dance,different tune (mod)

I'll call this done,I simply wont bother reading anymore of Phenom's Bakers or Frenzy's posts that could possibly revolve around something I would consider blind ignorance when it comes to Phenom and the shit-pie's he's baking and serving up for the community,because if I do acknowledge them,then I'll be at fault and waste my time anyway.
