A list of things Yellow No. 5 has done.

1. Helped motivate Solecord to complete the QuakeOne.com in early 2006. Where was I? I wasn't even around, I had mostly given up and had accepted that it would probably never happen.

We had all worked on the site a lot in 2005, but different things frustrated us in completion of the site.



2. Encouraged Rook to work on Qrack. He was a big Qrack supporter. He also provides a lot of feedback to add very smart features into the engine like autodemo, cl_mute and what not.



3. Made the QuakeOne expo booth for Quake Expo; Solecord and I were too busy. He did it all by himself.



4. The dm.quakeone.com server; it is the most fun server to play on when the map is good. He also made a movie for it.

dm.quakeone.com is vanilla DM with wall climbing and the classic strength/haste/resistance runes. For a while, it was intermittent busy, but Bomber ended up absorbing most of the desire for new maps/game play.



5. Promoted Bomber and CAx, arranged for a server to host it by Vis and Avalanche.



6. Made a texture pack that looks good in Qrack/JoeQuake or any other new age engine.



7. Encouraged Bam and I work on xCTF. Yeah, but I see a player or 2 on it every once in a while because it shareware compatible, so you don't have to own Quake to play there. It's too bad, because xCTF is a really good mod.

8. Plays with bobbing on and still does well. :d

Yellow is cool, lay off. What Baker is trying to say is that without Yellow's hand in things, this site and many of the servers you enjoy probably wouldn't be there. I was semi-involved in the early days of this site/organization, before most of you knew it existed. Life was pulling me in too many directions at that time to be really committed and contribute, but I know for a fact Yellow was responsible for much of what came together.

I didn't really even know Yellow before that, but we quickly found common ground in the appreciation/preservation of Quake online. Yellow is a real guy with a real job, a real family, and a real business that he runs. Maybe he was having a bad day and had his finger on the button. So the fuck what? Did he cause any REAL injury? I think not. I don't know what happened, and I don't need to know. History has repeated itself yet again, and people bitching about server admins need to get over it.

Being an admin at a quake server ain't easy. Most if not all of the people bitching about Yellow would do a MUCH worse job. Some of you who are admins undoubtedly ARE doing a worse job. So what if an admin makes a mistake? You never made a mistake at your job before? Only the worst boss would "fire" a worker because of a mistake. Live and learn, and become better. Yellow is no dumbass. He's not perfect either. But neither is anyone here. Quit acting like your shit don't stink.

If you aren't actively supporting this site or servers with significant contributions, then STFU about who runs it or how they run it. Bottom line. Playing and posting are NOT significant contributions. Players/posters are USERS. If you don't like how it's run, take your "business" elsewhere. And let me tell you, if your business is bitchy whining or whiny bitching, then your "business" is not appreciated and nobody will miss you when you've left.

Coding, donating real money, organizing things so they actually happen, those are real contributions. If someone doesn't think Yellow has contributed, that is just ignorance. It's ok, you weren't there. But without Yellow, this site probably wouldn't exist.

What is with this new trend of screenshotting the end of every map, demoing every 1v1, posting them on quakeone... Seriously. Do you even have any idea how many late nights I have spent playing RA tooling slugnut endlessly? And he won 2 or 3 games one night and now you've got his **** in your mouth? If I could I'd reach through the computer screen and clock you one in the jaw so at least you'd bite down and end his ability to generate progeny.
