  • silly question

this might have been asked a lot in the past, but why the hell is the h_player.mdl so much bigger than the actual player's head? I mean the original developers of Quake made all the monsters gibbed heads be practically the exact same size as the monster's model ones. am I missing something here? I do think the runequake big head mode is quite hilarious and makes a reference to the funny oversized head

I would say simply for visibility, the severed head bouncing is so cool, you miss it if its too scale. One of the cases of sacrificing a bit of realism for id's style.

I had at one time a custom skull (from q1arena?) of the player's head that looked cool, yet a bit smaller than the original one.
