Worst Players

Tal, it would be your spot to speak up on who you think the worst is at this current time, being you started the thread. Funny thing is, when I try to think of who the worst is, I can't even think about it because I tend to recognize the better players on scene. Tough question nonetheless. I'm gonna go ahead and go with Phocus, and probably Monoxide as worst players. Lots of things figure in by me saying this. Mainly the cheats they needed to win CQL or just win on pub servers.

thats crazy, if it's true, it might explain how he got better so quickly in CTF.
I remembered him being horrible, and a few months after he left TuSa for Sped, he was 500 times better. Never really noticed anything suspicious.

Mainly with Phocus, I'm frustrated that he always knows where I am.
I am probably the most adept player alongside Nate at being sneaky in CA and getting behind people and he still pre-shafts me around wall corners exactly where I am hidden. No one else notices.

For me, I find it's pretty easy to determine who cheats, I've watched a lot of good players mainly cata, spoon and a few others, and not once has the thought entered my mind that they cheat. Yet every time I play him (and no its not a representative bias based on prior encounters and hearing how he used to cheat) I see him pull off more and more bullshit, the same goes for Speedy Gonzalez. I also love how when he's the last one left and everyone is observing he suddenly plays "clueless" and walks around like a newbie tilting his head from side to side pretending he is seeking out the enemy, he doesn't even manage in the least bit to make it look normal.

With speedy gonzalez, his most obvious move is when he pops above water to shaft you when your inside water, and yet even if you move far from the last spot he saw you before he popped out of water he still shafts you for your entire health in your new location although technically, he should have NO idea where you are now as compared to before.

Gonzalez also goes in one game from being the worse player in the game to suddenly being the most dominant Quaker you will ever witness.
The difference between the two is drastic, you can tell its completely contrasting play styles.

With Phocus, the pre-firing gets me the most, he consistently hits me with rockets and pre shafts around corners, to me its usually the pre shaft that gives it away especially since he pinpoints exactly where I am behind a wall and fires previous to even entering the room. If this was legit, I would deem his reaction time unfathomable and therefore he must have inherited Babe Ruth's incredible genetics.

Anyway, thats my 2 cents, you can troll me if you want to or agree, it doesn't make a difference it wont change my opinion.

I just got back from a psych ward , but I do consider myself bluntz as one of the worst quakers to spawn in quake1.

I've always been crap at DM quake. I got "okay" at CTF and Rune quake, but that was a long time ago. personally don't like weapons with low hit speed, and that's pretty much everything in Quake. I can't predicted where other damn players are going to be in 0.5 seconds. Stupid game.

the worst is myself, considering i was quite decent, never really top class like a few players, coming back after a few years i've been just terrible, in the water, aiming, my shaft is nowhere near what it was even when i used to ping 160.

It's so damn frustrating, Quake is definately not like riding a bike..

First off I'd like to say I'm glad after not even talking to or remembering frenzy even existed for over a year me and clan zero had the kind of emotional impact that you would remember the countless beat downs that were laid on you and still remain bitter 5-6 years later. As far as me being the worst player, someone who has the history in this game, playing competitive quake since the beginning I find quite amusing. Spend any amount of time playing with me on either rage or now more likely speaknow and you will see I clearly have no need or desire to cheat or hack in any way. To think you didn't even participate in cql and didn't even play ca back then so obviously those comments weren't from first hand experiences but rather recycled trash talk and old rumors not to mention the lack of logic in your argument. I would like to give a little personal advice, before making pointless posts in quakeone.com forums I would be much more concerned about working your way up to manager at your local McDonalds and hiring a lawyer to regain custody of your poor child. I appreciate the fact you still remember me and if you can manage to stay out of jail and get a broadband connect rigged up in your trailer please feel free to come join the action sometime.
As far as monoxide and clan zero, we were the new england patriots of nqca. You can say what you will about our tactics but the bottom line was we were smarter than you, we were more talented than you, we were better than you. No one had a run of dominance over nqca like ours so of course people will talk trash and try to discount our accomplishments but the memories of our victories and those who were owned cannot be tarnished nor diminished. If others would have been capable of imitating our methods they surely would have. As far as rampage, his opinions might mean something to the newbies who read these kinds of posts, however if you take into account his behavior on servers (e.g. the other day he was getting wood laid on him and told me to "suck a dick" then claimed I was "attacking" him and promptly left the server with a 20 ping.) The type of threads such as this one as well as blatant fabrications in forum posts and in-game actions by rampage suggest very weak character and most likely self-esteem issues. His opinions are about as credible as president bush's opinions on global warming or foreign policy. A thread like this is a joke, there is no such thing as the "worst quaker" in 2007. Newbies or players with inferior skill should not even be acknowledged, it's like saying who's the better original pacman player in 2007 or the best Ultimate DOOM player in 2007. Although I'm long over the whole quake ego thing I always feel obligated to set facts straight when comedy like this is brought to my attention. Much thanks and look forward to the continuing ownage on nq servers by me and the other few true oldsk00l quakers far into the future.

When I was in SPED, mono posted a scrim picture of us beating HDZ.

Guess what? He accidentally didn't notice the picture showed spikes on models and revealed his pak2 on Elder. After I told the other SPED members about this, it was taken off the site two days later never to be shown again, and no member in SPED ever spoke about it again. A day later I left the clan because of his blatant cheating. No wonder he turned into a remarkable player in less than a few weeks after being absolutely horrible.

As far as you go, you have a history of cheats. You were known for sending cheats in L1 clan with Skewered. You are still recognized as one of the biggest pak2 users to ever play this game. There were many people who openly admitted you sent them hacks over IRC to use on Quake.

So don't come in here denying and fabricating stories, you have a well documented history as to how much you have cheated.

As far as Quake goes, i've seen you and random NFA members such as hatch pull off countless bullshit. I tested out this theory and hid next to YA teleport to begin the round, to my surprise I popped out for a second, and who did I see waiting for me right there with a rocket? Hatch. He shot me into the teleport.. and thus began my bitching. I asked if he was at YA to test him, and he lied and said he was at a different place, although I read his name tag when I placed my RL over him.

At times I hide next to RL stairs waiting for someone on bridge to walk up bridge stairs.. You've come around the corner pre-shafting the wall and continuing until you hit me to begin the round without ever seeing me in the first place. There are many instances where you have done this. I do not need a reason to know that you toggle, as the two differences between the skill when you hack, and the skill when you dont hack are completely different.

I've played you when you dont use cheats, you are horrible. You are easy to kill. Your shaft is nowhere near where its supposed to be, your movement, aim, and everything else is mediocore at best. You are worlds apart from where you are when you use hacks. I dont need any evidence to this, I can see it by your gameplay. Besides NFA probably has the richest history of hackers alongside SPED, and L1. When you first came back to Quake after being banned from IRC for fucking with ETG, you had stopped using cheats. I couldn't believe how bad of a player you were, considering the "old you" was much better. Yet everyone knows the reason for that don't we?

It's a little too late to defend yourself, most Quakers who played with you have known this for years of playing. It's sad that you still pass cheats around to your butt buddies when this game is as old as it is.

Ok, for being such a self-proclaimed quake pro you should know that the speedy move you described would require a server-side vised map. There is no way to see someone in water when you pop out. As far as my pre-fire, the other day I recall multiple point blank shaft battles and I disposed of you rather quickly as you flailed away of course followed by a classic ramp excuse "oh my fps were on like 60" but I'm sure my 34% lg is purley the result of some er33t aimbot contraption. Babe ruth played baseball in the early 1900s when pitchers threw about 78 mph tops not to mention he was about 280 lbs and died at age 53 I would have went with barry bond's genetics and reaction time in the 2001 season myself :d. But anyways I don't know anything about that sped and tusa shit I was playing dm at that point and yes when we first played together when I was hpb I did cheat with clan zero but who didn't? Just because I have developed/USED cheats back in 2000/2001 does not mean I would use them or even possess them today(quake1 cheats). I have nothing personal against you I just thought attacking me in the manner you did was a total bitch move and cowardly. There is no reason to say that stuff considering I play about twice a week if I even get a chance at all, and to discount my skill as a gamer is idiotic considering the ammount of time we competed against each other relative to my gaming career as a whole. I'm pretty sure you didn't DM with me back in the day or play q3 with me for all those years. Personally, I'm the world's worst loser. When my brother and I were kids playing Monopoly, I would always throw the board and pieces around the room every time I lost (much to my brother's amusement). What annoys me about losing, is my perception that the smug shit on the winning end actually thinks for that moment that he is better than me. Which is of course... preposterous.

As you get older, you can at least laugh at your own egg-shell ego bitching about losing a video game. I haven't quite mastered the art of losing without wanting to reach into the video monitor and repeatedly punch my opponent in the face, while he quite happily typing ">zOMG< that waz EASY lolz!!!".

However, cheating isn't the answer. People do get tempted into cheating. It's kind of a naughtily buzz at first thinking you have a "secret weapon" that will destroy the opposition. In the end of course, it is a hollow victory that means nothing. It leaves no lasting feeling of accomplishment. You didn't win... the cheat did.
