I am not learning the nooks and crannies of some shitty custom map, and I certainly won't play you on whatever shitty server runs that shitty custom map. You sit on CA and DM servers and talk shit - so your options are to play CA or DM or even RA. Otherwise stop playing and save us the trouble of having to pick you last when we are captains.

Again your ignorance is bliss... obviously you know nothing when it comes to the history of any professional tournaments. Wasn't it maps like E1M2 where Thresh won the first major tournament? There's been countless challenges on maps other than dm2/4/6. It doesn't take a highly intelligent person to run around any of those 3 maps and run the weapons and RA just someone who can count. I have every right to formulate an opinion that results in the thought that those are tired, overplayed maps and I enjoy playing newer custom maps that provoke a little more strategy and thought than running weapons. I've always been an advocate that I wished people would play dm3 where the entity file replaced the NG at RA with another RL. It would be so interesting to see how different games the outcomes and how control would be affected with that type of setup.

Once again your statements are so ridiculous I don't know whether to laugh at you or feel sorry for you. Most of the time I just do both. Everyone's entitled to challenge someone on any map they damn well please just as much it's everyone's right to accept or not. To say a map is shitty without ever having played it as you've stated is just another showing of your ignorance. I've played countless "good players" on custom maps like toilet as well as many other maps against people like Krix, Apoc, BlackKnight, Turtlevan, PowerZord, etc. Yet not once did they ever cry about it not being "standard" as you so boldly do. Your "shitty server/shitty map" comment is just an excuse that you don't have the desire be shown up.

I highly doubt you'd hold me to under 5 frags against you since I've had numerous occasions engaging you both in DM team games as well as CA team games and you're not THAT dominant. I've told you I'd play you but you haven't stepped up as of yet even though I'm sure you'll win. I'd be happy to play you on dm2 or dm4, just not dm6 since I loathe that map. pop, you've been playing quake like 12 years. In such a time, you're bound to win some, just as everyone knows you've lost some. I wasn't "on omi's dick" at all. as omi agreed, i certainly wasn't inflating his ego, either. I'm pretty sure I've never said anything even remotely nice to 95% of people who play quake. I think twice about saying things like "nice shot" or "good fight" and my hesitations usually lead me to not saying it at all. To think I was up someone's ass is completely uncharacteristic of who i am and how i act in quake. Nice try, though. i'm only nice to a few quakers regularly, and those are the ones i've known for a long time, or the ones i have e-respect for

That said, i don't have any problems with omi. I think he's a riot sometimes. Annoying at other times, sure, but i think he's funny nonetheless. His kind of annoying is FAR better than a bunch of white trash losers talking about how high they are or the latest underground rap sensation, so he's a welcomed addition to the server, some days or nights

But then again, i also find wintin funny as well. Wintin and omi seem to cause entire servers to turn into unrest. Omi can be a complete ****, but he can also call a spade a spade, which most quakers really, really, REALLY shy away from (god knows why). My finding wintin and omi 'entertaining' either says a lot about me or it says a lot about the quake community

Thought I'd drop some knowledge in here.

In regards to Thresh playing e1m2, neither Entropy nor Dennis picked that map. The tournament was single elimination and they had a strange way of randomizing maps. Most of it was one by roll of the dice if I remember correctly. DM1 was also played earlier in the tournament.

Since 1997 TB3 (the big 3) have been considered to be the standard map pool for 1on1. TB5 (you guessed it, the big 5) has also been acceptable. dm2/4/6/aerowalk/ztndm3.

That is NOT to say that an individual cannot challenge another individual on some map not in that pool, for now we live in a free country (those of you in Canada may have more of a right to this statement as of late). But most quake players can find a level playing field somewhere in TB3 or TB5.
