  • Quake Radio?

I've been thinking, could we pull of a Doomradio style broadcast for Quake? I'm a pretty established radio host, hosting a number of small-time OGG broadcasts, and was wondering, if there was enough info and happening to do a short Radio show, would anyone listen?

It could have some recent news, new clients, games, servers, etc. Maybe some Quake inspired music. Some user commentary via text messages read on air or sound files emailed to me.

I have a decent mic, a voice that doesnt get irritating in two seconds, and time, so, if anyone has any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them.

What do you have to use to listen? I don't have an active imagination, but since you are a radio host maybe you have ideas to keep it from being boring.

I'd like to hear more about this idea.

Well, I'm decently funny, but I'd need someone to compile all of the happenings of that week or day or whatever and have a list that I can read off of, just as a loose guide, I can adlib the rest.

Sure, while I'm on the forums I'll listen to a radio.

eSx used to have their own radio but I don't know what happened to it.

And I think TLTQ had one at one point too.

There's actually enough going on here that you "could" do radio adjacent to the board. Personally I probably wouldn't listen to it unless it was during working hours .. lol Who wants to work anyway. Sounds like a fun idea.

Maybe we seriously could put voice-speech into a quake client. So you could talk into the microphone and everyone in the game can hear you, or in teams only the people in your team can hear you. It would be a very modern feature to have, but I don't know how the Ub3r 1337 programmers would go about it.

Tell you what. If I get fired but have lots of money to support myself for 30 years, I'll work with Rook on adding that feature on Qrack

Well, it wont be like a podcast (unless someone can hook me up!), it will be a file that you download and listen to, allowing you to hear the broadcast at your leisure.

Plus I don't think Bank is going to sit down for 24 hours everyday to keep up a radioact

When Bank proposed the idea, I imagined it to be a sound file download or stream.

as long as you give me a shout-out atleast once every show by saying "Glory to the Scourge", ill listen.

                              ...alright, ill be flexable.

                              every other show.
