  • CAx + Qrack Dedicated LAN Server

I keep getting an annoying cl_maxfps over and over when I run a dedicated server using Qrack for the server engine. GLPro completely crashed out so that wasnt an option , Qrack runs the server fine, except for the nonstop cl_maxfps problem.

Any idea's on how to fix this problem ??? It's causing persistant icon's everytime I connect via same PC thats running the server & over the LAN.

btw, Yellow5, that Gigafast is coming in handy! Hopefully soon I'll have broadband

Mindz, try using wqpro.exe as the dedicated server if Qrack isn't working for you.

If I recall correctly, the main changes in Rook's .exe is admin-mute (which you don't need on a LAN) and a nice grenade bouncing down slopes bug-fix (a bug which CRMOD, Shmack, IHOC have had for years).

Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

True, glquake had a problem being used as a server. Yet I have eliminated the use of a software-rendered engine as the only client for a server, yet Qrack is not to be used as a dedicated derver. I'd sugest Baker's uPQ 3.80, as a start or stick to winPQ3.50

Suprisingly , Baker's wqPro370 (thats the last release I downloaded) worked fine, and I'm going to test it out right now. I would have done it earlier but the only other accessible PC on the lan is my mother in law's,and im just gonna try running Quake from a jumpdrive, the other PC on the lan is my brother in law's that he uses for college ,and he has a server box of some sort running apache which isnt anything I know about, and running a linux box server + Quake is a never-done-before thing

        Thanks for the suggestion

Can anyone tell me if KP is still around? I havent tried Quake on the narrowband connection but im sure it will be outrageous as fuck, hence Monster's suggestion for FBCA practicing (would prefer CAx w/ Frikktbots hint hint!! ) and LAN gaming with the wife and kids ,and possibly the bro in law soon

/me drinks a beer for you, whomever reading this DDD
