  • Inverted or Non Inverted?

I just wanted to Poll the current NetQuake community on what your preference is when it comes to inverting your pitch mouse look or not.

Edit: Inverted mouse control is pushing the mouse forward to look down. Non-inverted mouse control is pushing the mouse forward to look up.

I don't, I think its confusing. I do however, invert the pitch on console FPSs, having the control stick inverted just feels way more natural to me.

when i first started playing quake i used inverted because it seemed more natural.. (i guess i was used to flight simulators back then) but i soon realized that NON-inverted was way better

Playing AirQuake with inverted mouse was fun (until I crashed and burned, then I turned it off )

I've just got to be different, so of course Inverted.

            ;-)

Never played flight simulators much, but PSX action adventures.

I invert. I'm also ambidextrous, so I'm unsure if it has any relation to that neurologically speaking.

Someone explained it like this: when you look down, your head goes forward, when you look up, it is pulled backward. -> "inverted" mouse movement.

i've tried to go non-inverted but i just can't do it. it just feels more natural to have it inverted.

it's like scrollbars in desktop apps--you pull down on the scrollbar and the content goes up...

It appears that more people invert the mouse than I would have thought. I figured it was around 10-20%.

/Cool trick: Invert the mouse at work in Windows so no one wants to use your PC or laptop. Works like a charm! :d :d :d

So far it's a rather small sample, check out this same poll at another site with a larger sample size.

Interesting results. I'm in the minority

What I don't like is when a game forces inverted controls on you. Or even inverted camera rotation. Playing Final Fantasy XII for a month then playing some Grand Theft Auto V scarred me for life.

Unless it's a pilot game like starfox or those old polygon airship games, inverted controls are not my dig.

inverted means you move the mouse up to look down and down to look up. according to what you said, you are non-inverted (as far as quake and other FPS games are concerned).
