Ohh yeah, that's a known fact. Apparently, in Joao's mind, its okay for him to be racist and talk shit about America, but its not okay for American's to talk shit about Brazil, otherwise Joao flips out and will flame you to no end. Go figure.

I voted that I don't want him to play until he gets some therapy. He needs to develop a secure interpersonal relationship with someone, as its fairly obvious that such a thing is absent for him. Lately I've gone out of my way to give him what he "wants" by being fairly cruel. I hope he realizes the function I was providing, which was to make clear that he needs to stop focusing so deeply on the social validation of his perfectly acceptable sexual activity. (Assuming it isn't little boys).

There are deeper problems sourcing the start of this thread, but Lerster, you posted this poll because obviously you think the overall consensus of the quake community thinks ill of you. This is not true, you have only compounded the miniscule amount of loathing from players. From those abhorers you created a bigger fan-base of haters by your constant protesting.

Here's the problem with you ler: your existence becomes a completely self-fulfilling prophecy. You have depression obviously due to a weak self-image, and as a result of being insecure you feel the need to socially validate your insecurities by focusing on them entirely and pervasively. Specifically, your homosexuality. Nobody cares one way or the other that you like to cornhole other guys, really, but talking so much about it explicitly and implicitly is what pisses people off. You perceive that its an issue with your lifestyle, because that is all you talk about. Your lifestyle. You get what you want even when it isn't what you really want. Stop putting the story of who you are on display by flaunting it at all times, be more secure, and people won't react in this manner. Plain. Simple. True.

Reason i haven't responded quickly, is i was contemplating what was posted by people.

The rest makes sense, as i have ranted on an on before but usually it's all from someone provoking me with some stupid question in the middle of a game or just before a game.

Then it becomes hard to stop, if at all, also having booze in my blood usually at the time doesn't help much either. Since you just end up thinking about what you last read, over and over.

Remember this principle: every time someone says something (assuming they aren't a medical or psychology professional), they're really saying something about themselves. Any hate directed your way based purely on your lifestyle is really a reflection of their insecurities.

Don't change yourself to be affable and courteous to people who are partially detached with society and they themselves are escaping into a virtual world, and thus could care less about your personal problems. Reading your life stories only makes those "haters" enticed to ridicule you based on your sexual preference which can easily be pinpointed.

As Sting stated, you have to understand when kids (excuse me.. people) are angry with their own life, they feel resentment and feel free to use their frustration and channel their anger towards people who are more open about their personal experiences and in this case your vulnerability (your sexual preference) has become subject to cruelty. Whether it'd be looks, financial reasons, bad job, bad family life, uninhabitable living area, lack of education people will always feel freedom behind a computer screen where they are not ashamed to confront you.

In conclusion, live life, forget about this game, don't read what people write online because once you log off these people are insignificant to you. There are many homosexuals around the world and people have happily accepted them into their lives, or the fact that they are living around them.
In fact research shows closet homophobics are the most likely candidates afraid to confront their own sexuality.

I sympathize with your homosexuality, I understand how hard it is to be accepted in modern society with many egomaniacs and self proclaimed righteous human beings. As far as your relationship, don't sit at home and sob about your situation, go out to a gay club, go meet some guys online I'm sure there are a handful of available gay singles waiting for their "white knight" to rescue them. You don't need to hide away at home and try to use Quake as an outlet for your obvious sensitive emotions.

Enjoy who you are, look in the mirror and see who's looking back because it's certainly not us.

I don't recall ler every talking about sexual content while in RA. But then again, I do filter out most of his messages. I've seen him go on and on about random, non sexual things.

I'm bringing this up because I see a lot of posts saying that we dislike him going on and on about his sexual preference. I have yet to see him doing that.

I must add that you should put your prejudices about therapy aside as well. It is essential to developing a strong and health interpersonal template to build on with others. Being "rescued" is NOT the answer and perpetuates problems, as I've learned on both sides of that equation.
