    Getting started.

    Hey, my friend plays quake 1 and said I should start playing, he advised me to come here for help.
    I just want to play multiplayer, so what client should I download?

    For starters you could just load up this:

    http://www.quakeone.com/proquake/



    And then if you want to try something more fancy you could try Qrack, DarkPlaces or JoeQuake.
