Hexen for Quake TC?

Maybe you're talking about Hexen 2 which runs on the Quake engine. I played it once but I only for 1 hour so I don't really have a good idea about it.

Fantasy Quake: Rise of The Phoenix


Fantasy Quake Rise of The Phoenix is the closest Quake TC I can think of.
The general feel of the mod is very close of Hexen/Heretic series and was not so badly done...

Hi Legend,

I see, that you are also a friend of fantasy FPS games like Hexen. Thats good.

If you really want to play Hexen 1 with a (very) good looking engine, you should use Doomsday.

Look at those beautiful screenshots there.
You can also play Heretic with it (or Doom, but thats not fantasy).
You only need to have the basic wad files to play.

If you want to play Hexen 2 in a kick ass engine, then you simply go with FTE:

Simply download the newset client (its more or less only an exe), put it in your Hexen 2 directory,
run it and enjoy. Thats the fastes way.
It works with Hexen 2 or Quake out of the box.
There are of course other engines, but this one works quickly.

I dont know, if Darkplaces works with Hexen 2.
Anyone knows it ?
Well, as long as it works with Quake it may work with Hexen 2 somehow...

forget about the 24 MB link on quake terminus page.
It is the beta Version 0.673. And you need at least the final version to update to latest 0.92.

So I searched the internet for the final Version file V0.92: fqrotp92.zip.
And guess where I found it ....
My old buddy Spirit has it on a high speed server on quaddicted !! :d

Hi guys. Thanks for the replies, but these are not what I'm looking for.

I do play Hexen 1 in doomsday already. It's my favorite doom/hexen/heretic port.

I also have Hexen 2 already and I know it uses a modified Quake engine.

Also aware of fantasy quake. It's pretty cool. I like it.

I was reading Blues quake news page from 1997 and a couple other hexen related pages the other day and they made mention of a Hexen to Quake TC. I know It's old news by now, but I'd still like to check it out in case anyone has any info. Here's one of the links to a page where I saw it mentioned.

Good luck trying to find that file. Released in 1997, which appears to be the year that production stopped. This "TC" can't be much more than a test or demo.

ANyone around got the hqtc.zip? I've been looking. I've found some links at an ftp site but the websites are in another language and every time I click the link, I get prompted for a login and password that I can't seem to figure out.
