I'm still around I'm in the country though, on this verizon wireless usb shit, and it only lets me connect to quake for 2-3 minutes then lags the fuck out.

I'll have a new connect soon, and I can toy around in quake a bit more

It strikes me as odd the evolution of computers.

1. No internet
2. Dialup
3. Broadband
4. Crapware/Spyware sabotage internet speeds and connectivity

Sometimes I wonder if the ultimate killer of online PC gaming won't be all the kludgeware that accumulates eating up memory, cpu cycles and otherwise rendering machines slow/ineffective combined with the unreliability of wireless and other assorted issues.

Most PC gamers know how to fight the "kludgeware", how to properly configure thier services.msc, and in general just know how to manage a computer. It is not complicated.

As for unreliable wireless... nothing was perfect when it first came out. Take those new Sony batteries for example. OMGWTFBBW MY LAPTOP IS ON FIRE. Wireless will eventually evolve.
