rook, you are not the only admin, so i don't necessarily disapprove of what you do. there seems to be too many rage admins, and i really believe things would go a lot better for all involved if there were less admining. shmack has run just fine for years, and there's 3 admins and the only time they ever do anything is when they see a definite bot or see a demo of a bot. Cherrie is one of the 3 admins, and she has used the admin functions so seldom that she hardly knows how to. i wish rage admins were like that.

the incident that turned me off from rage:
it was at the end of the round on edge, like 10 people on the server, and down to the last 2 alive. so some douchebag is camping above teleport by the boxes. i watch him not move for 45 seconds, then i tell his position. i get muted for half an hour. wtf?? after that, i never really wanted to play on rage again

I decided to take a principled stand against rage, however, only when i saw other people getting abused. See mithril's comment above. I also disliked what happened to phenom, though i also thought phenom's reaction juvenile. Also the ban on JR pissed me off. I haven't really played on rage heavily for like a year, so these are only the cases that i can remember. as i saw more and more people, good people, getting severed from the CA community on a rage admin's whim, i saw that rage had become somewhat evil, and more of a dividing force in the quake community than a united one

on one hand he says "Rage is for pickup games, people come and grab people to play other stuff" then on the other hand he says "I banned you from Rage to promote Dredd" Then in another hand he says "I made Rage popular by working long hard nights trying to get games going" as if he did everything by himself including making a texture pack which he simply copied textures from other people's hard work.. come to think of it, Yellow No.5 has copied his texture pack and bomber (Bomber was finished being debugged and was first officially ran on Bomber then Yellow uses it) I find it rather complimenting that he copies my ideas, he can deny it all he wants but its the truth.

Yellow No.5 also says Rage is his as if HE owned the server, which is funny, Dreadful rents speaknow.quakeone.com, Ava rents his server, Yellow No.5 is the janitor of Ava's server, he might have all the keys but its not his job to say who plays on Avalanche's server and who doesn't. I talk to Avalanche 4-5 times a week, hes a cool and I appreciate the servers he's put up for us but how Yellow No.5 got added to the mix as the "go to guy" when it came time to hand over bomber.ironrocket.com and said "I can host it from" he completly shitted on the whole idea of what CAX was supposed to be.... oh well.. I don't really have to tell people how much of an ass Yellow is or makes himself look when he plays "Big bad admin its funny to see him ban people now. Goodluck on your rage server btw it looks like Speaknow is getting more play, except Souless won't play there... because hes super leet and gets 7 directs almost every game, he's a rage'r 4 life

Played there again lastnight.. Was really easy... I ping 70-75 there actually..So not bad.. Oh, and I have yet to play a custom map on speaknow.

Speaknow makes it easier for me to make trick jumps, i'm not sure of the settings but its different.

We've played a few other maps then DM3, although Speaknow does mainly play DM3 it's admin doesn't enforce the "We play my way or I take my toy and go home" mentality which makes it for a more laxed environment, you don't have to deal with alot of the BS Rage goes through when certain admins joins and want to play their way.

But I haven't played on Rage since Speaknow.quakeone.com has gone up, and I don't intend to. Yellow No.5 really knows how to drive away players.
