Chuck Norris sleeps with a night light not because he is afraid of the dark, but that the dark is afraid of Chuck Norris.
This body holding me,reminds me of my own mortality.
Embrace this moment, remember, we are eternal, all this pain is an illusion.

Things have been really weird for the past two days... hard drives corrupt. I struggle to back everything up but external hard drive created it's own problems with the power supply. So I then made an FTP server on my p1 and apparently destroyed both Ethernet cards involved in the ftp transfer (seriously wtf? It was transferring at like 200KB/sec). Now the hard drives are back to normal (another big wtf). I'm going crazy!

My conclusion for the HDs: They're faulty hardware
I can't figure out why both ethernets (one for each computer) died because of an ftp transfer. ://////

                      Power surge?

Are you sure they died? Maybe the drivers became corrupt?

Always use a high quality power cleaner. The $40 ones probably don't do much. Also a good power supply is smart, too. Just because two HDs crash or corrupt data doesn't mean they were manufactured poorly. More likely another cause.

I keep fans blowing directly on my HDs and I'm convinced that has helped me stay HD crash free in the past four years. Before that I had at least one crash a year. Good luck man.

If none if this works, ask that guy in the background what the button does.
