  • Should I?

Would you guys like me to start running the CAx tournaments weekly again? It definately wouldn't be a problem, just let me know

And would you guys want 2-2's again? Or 3-3's? This ran very well for months as the 2-2 tournament. But feel free to voice an opinion.

I voted no only because generally when they were played, some of the players didn't take them seriously. I competed in them a few times and often got a teammate that just wanted to screw around, so I never really had fun in them.

QuadRaptor, I understand what you're saying, but I'm confused as to why you're being pessimistic about the issue at hand.

You're saying some of the players may have not taken them seriously, and that's understood. But why base your vote on those players alone? Why not base your vote on the players who did take them seriously, and did have fun?

The tournament page is still up, and ready to roll when I'm ready if I get the players around that want to play. Still have tournament history, proving a success:

          1/14/2007 Winners: Exalt and Novmode
          2/11/2007 Winners: St00p and Frenzy
          2/18/2007 Winners: Bryant and Frenzy
          2/25/2007 Winners: Mindzx and Souless
          3/11/2007 Winners: Mindzx and Souless
          3/30/2007 Winners: JohnRocker and Frenzy
          4/23/2007 Winners: Frenzy and Krix
          5/06/2007 Winners: Taxi and AnalBlast
          5/13/2007 Winners: Taxi and Swiss
          5/14/2007 Winners: Taxi and Frenzy
          5/20/2007 Winners: Drez0r and Sneakatoke
          5/27/2007 Winners: L33t and Vibe

          Anyhow, keep the votes coming!

Also note, that history of winners is nowhere near the complete list, we didn't start keeping track until way after I originally started running the tournament.

Yes, but 3 vs. 3 team deathmatch or 4 v 4 team deathmatch on id1 maps I think would be more interesting.

I think CA and DM3 have been done to death.

Seeing a 4 vs. 4 deathmatch on E4M3 or E1M3 would be a lot more interesting for sure.

Done to death or not, the 2v2 ca tourney was a huge benefit to the quake community, it really got people playing. I always wanted different maps each week, dm6, sanity, etc. But dm3 is a crowd pleaser and people came out of the woodwork to play, then stuck around. Lets get it going again frenzy.....

It would be more interesting, but due to lack of that many people being able to show up at one time in one spot limps it. Just look at any clan matches that happen anymore, they are rare and far between.

2-2 makes it easier, you just gotta find 1 person. And a lot of times, people didn't realize the 2-2 was going on, showed up last second, and were able to get a teammate in a split second. The benefits of the 2-2 outweigh those of a 4-4.

If it were 3v3 then I'd play but I can't trust only having one other teammate. I'm sure there are others who think the same.

So you can trust 2 people but not 1? I'm confused what your point was. If you have a bad teammate it would show easier in a 2v2 than a 3v3.

2s is fine, 3s would be too much right now.

It's nothing. It's personal. If everyone else wants to do it then go for it, but I don't plan to participate since, aside from Fuzznut, I've never had a teammate who plays seriously.

The chance of having two teammates who just want to fuck around in the tourney is significantly lower than one.

The chance of having 6 players show up for a game vs 4 is also much lower...
