IHOC Vs. Bots Server

This is not a big deal but i was curious if it is possible to remove this server from the list of servers that are scanned or checked for players, etc. Or add it to an ignore list.

No one ever plays there and it is always at the top of the quake servers list at the quakeone.com home page because it has 5 bots playing. So it is like a big tease.. Your looking for people to play and everything says 0 except this server that says 5! You look to see what server and you are sadly shot down.

I agree. At first I had it excluded, then I removed the exclusion.

I'll exclude it again and then figure out how to handle bots servers in general.

I don't think you should exclude it... I didn't even realize it existed until I saw it on the servers list. It's not a tease if you know it's gonna be there, as you do Disco. Anyhow, just saying, I personally think it should be left there. For some people who don't know how to search many servers, it's a good thing, especially if they dont have the 399 quake.

Maybe put it in its own section like how the European and Brazilian servers are seperate. You could put all the IHOC servers together.

I agree with Frenzy, leave it there. I've played a few friends there within the last week. It's a different kind of game there and the server gives players a another choice.

I don't see what the big deal is.. IHOC shows up really big. I ignore it when I'm looking for servers with people. Anyone with any sense would realize its bots and not pay any attention to it. Some people actually like to play bots.. Not me.. but some other dude might.

Baker, although this will prob. not work with the sorting, we could define another variable to define default number of players and then subtract # active - default players to get the actual active players. I haven't looked through the code lately so I don't remember how we are sorting and such so this may not work, if the servers are returned sorted already or if we sort them?

I have the front page server browser block criteria set to players > 1, so the IHOC bots server is really the only non-players server that hits the home page.

I do know the categories could be reworked, there really isn't a special need for a ProQuake cheat-free category, those could just have a special icon.
