Hey guys, I got my buddy into quake. I set him up with Qrack. If you see him on the servers (mainly ChicagoCAx because that's the only one he knows how to get to) help him out if he needs it guys. This guy loves the game as of now, and he's usually into newer games, yet he's hooked.

His name on the servers is Firefly. His real name is Skylar, call him by either he'll respond. He's LOVING rocket jumps, so if you wanna teach him those, do that too

I'm letting him learn on Speaknow because I don't want to throw to much at him at once. He's getting the basics down pretty well so far.

So if ya see him, welcome him, he's working on getting 2 more buddies into quake as well, lets make this experience enjoyable.

He lives a little longer than that He's experienced in other games, he's picking it up very well. And besides Shmack, I don't know any other server besides Speaknow that always has activity. I set up his autoconfig to connect there that way he can play when he wants.

Shmack is a good place to start since there are more noobies there and they are more friendly. In CA he would just get repeatedly killed, no fun.

When he gets more experienced and the feel of Quake down, he can plunge into harder mods with stiffer competition.

By the way, I want to add that he is a really nice guy. I liked him. We need more players with that kind of attitude and existing players should learn from him how to act on the servers.

Wait, he also needs to play SP first to learn the levels and location of powerups and weaps.

I just threw him into CA because that's where the better players are. I don't want him playing on Shmack yet, I want him to become great Odds are he'll be a better player by starting out playing the better players. And he's loving it

My basic principle is that you start with small weights and then move on to bigger ones. You do not just jump directly lifting one ton, lol, but if he can handle himself into straight up CA then all the better for him.

Yes, but I see it as, it's not who he's playing, but rather, who he's being taught by in the long run.

Taught by who, you? Hey, are you giving him lessons? I am jelous, I want too!

I miss those days when we used to play straight up for 6 hours and I would get dead tired exhausted and you can still go on, haha!

I have not played for 2 months due to a Quake issue, but now I am back into business.

Evertime you see me you say I improve by leaps and bounds from what I was, lol.

I certainly need more practice and fun games with you. It would be great if me and Skylar would all play together with you.

As I mentioned to you other times, I am available during mornings.

I hope to see you and your friend then.

Not just taught by me, no, I've really put no time into teaching him. Basically just got him setup and threw him in. What I meant by the statement was, he'll be playing the likes of yourself, and other seasoned vets, so he's more or less, being taught by you all.

And yes, those days were fun I'm currently on a laptop right now and have no mouse. Haven't had one since I moved back in here. It sucks because I connected and checked things out, I'm siting with about 200 FPS and 25-40 ping, these two combinations are the best I've ever had for Quake and I can't wait to get on the stomping grounds.

                      See you soon
