I�m new here and I�m looking for a way to get Quake. I�m not sure of your policy regarding downloading Quake but could someone please tell me where to get it.

Basiclly I need to get Quake and good updates. feel free to add me on your msn.

One option is to go to FreeQuake page and run all 3 installers:

http://freequake.quakeone.com

You'll have 2 modern clients (ProQuake 3.50, JoeQuake 0.14) on your computers and as much of Quake that can be legally distributed.

You can also install this with 2 mouse clicks:

Yellow No. 5's Texture Pack



and have cool looking textures and alternate weapon models in JoeQuake.

You can also install QRack 1.53 with a couple of mouse clicks:

This site has only been up a little over 3 weeks, but within the next couple of weeks we will have some servers converted over that do not required registered Quake to play and will be running custom maps.

If you do find your Quake CD, the only the difference between FreeQuake and the full version of Quake is pak1.pak that goes in c:\quake\id1

You might be able to buy Quake at:

The ID Software online store is down so you can't buy Quake there.

I got it working thanks a lot. One question how do I install Yellow No. 5's Texture Pack? Just by putting it in the same folder as Quake?

The quake I just downloaded is it a full version or just a demo?

Just double click it, it's an installer. If you are using IE, just say "Run" otherwise save it and double-click the file.

The installer won't let you install it wrong.

Juggernaut, that was freequake, containing only e1m1-e1m8. You can get FULL QUAKE from me (I will hand it over to you on YAHOO IM!)
There is also a site to D/L it but I don't know it...
