Original Quake's E1m6 Door to Chthon (check it out in Darkplaces with Rygel- it looks INSANE! If the Hell levels of Doom 3 and The labyrinth in Hellraiser had a baby- that baby would be E1M6!)

But my absolute favourite is a custom map:
Hrimfaxi's Breakfast at Twilight- so awesome it deserves a Nobel Prize.

It can be custom or original. I like E4M2 because there are lots of Knights, Vores and Ogres. Plus thats were that glitch whit monsters killing each other usually happens. B-)

e1m2 It's simple yet elegant, fairly nonlinear and it doubles as an excellent DM map.

E1M5 is really good, but I love E2M1 and E2M2. In fact World 2 has most of the maps I really like. I think the END map is a pretty interesting one too....I made it into a CTF map, and it was on fileplanet.

e4m8--the nameless city

it's big and can handle a large number of players, yet there aren't many build-up spots where many players often gather. i.e. the map keeps people fairly well-distributed, and if you want to go to a quiet area for a bit to heal and restock, you can do that. i like that, cuz i can't stand anything more than the type of clusterfuck game where people get killed completely by accident by spam or whatever

Single player: probably e1m3 or e4m4

Multiplayer: I like Azure Agony e4m7 a ton especially FFA without a grappling hook (sigh ... like that ever happens any more -- the glory days of 2002) because I like rocket jumping as part of map navigation. Or using a grenade to get to the red armor.
