Returning... again!

HA! Hi guys, I popped up a few years ago posting THIS thread. All worked nicely, then my GF and I had a kid, had no time to play games, now time is starting to free up again!

So I was wandering once again, now that it is a few years on, and I'm sure there are new developments, so what is the best combination of "eye candy" tools to spruce up old quake?

I'm also looking to get some server action playing SLIDE! So what ever I use will need to be Slide friendly

in response to my old setup (Dark Places, with the additional "Retexture Project" ), i noticed that on the Retexture Project website, there have been no more updates since October 20, 2007. Has this project now been "completed"?

Not really what he meant. He meant so say if you cant DM or ctf you wont be playing against him,as he is limited to those mods of gameplay.

If you play CA or RuneQuake or RA.... or any mod for the matter to be honest,you could be playing me very shortly.

Hi Brad,

If you're stateside I know foqer_tu recently set up a Slide server on one of the ports (I think it might have been 26001 but you could always PM for confirmation) of hub.quakeone.com.

There are some really advanced engines out there. It would be very helpful to know some system specs. Most notibly, processor type and speed, amount of RAM, and your video card model. Darkplaces can be a very demanding engine once you turn RT WORLD on, and much more once you install some textures, like the insanely high quality Rygel texture pack. A beefy video card would be nescessary for that setup. Darkplaces works just fine with Slide.

You'll have to send me a PM with a time for us to play Slide togeather. It's boring alone and nobody ever natrually happens onto the server, and if they do, nobody else ever happens to natrually come on the server while somebody else is there... so any games that do happen pretty much have to be scheduled or started by pulling your buddies out of a server that actually gets played...

Hey the_f0qer! Thing is I'm about to upgrade my PC so specs arent a problem, but currently I'm running an intel Q6600, 4GB DDR800 ram, Geforce 7600GT - going to stick with the LGA775 for another year, so will be upgrading to a Q9550, and running Windows 7 (already own it as a part of the MAPS program) so I can use 8GB ram, not sure about the video card upgrade yet, but will probably be GTX260 or something of the likes.
