That was add in version 1.0-1.4 then was removed. (disabled in the code).
I could atleast make it an admin/server option.

making it an admin option is useless, if a player is indeed deserving of a kick, the idea behind vote-kick obviously was it wouldn't require an admin be on hand, at all times of the day. People are not stupid or ignorant. They know that their actions will result in more actions.

go ahead..Act a fool, abuse vote-kick. You know you'll be dealt with. It's simple. Just like it was a cool idea to shoot the neighbor in the ass with a sling shot.It was a great idea until I realized it was gonna leave a mark.
Ahh, memories. I wonder if my parents still have that sling shot lol

        (20-30min later)

Then you have to completely remove the "Grey area" ,which would refer to rule set that was infallable. Like color changing mid-game. Allowed only if the current players dont mind? This doesnt work, some people are sarcastic assholes and will say no just out of spite.

How about play style? That is definately not a reason to kick someone from a server, but I garuntee as soon as someone thinks they are being gayed voting will occur. I think vote-kick should only work on unanimous votes all around the current players playing, voting should not be effected by idlers or observers.

I feel it would be much easier to handle repeat offenders on a individual basis. It's not like there are 500 people out there pissing off the community of a few thousand, right?

curious jake, what the req. for vote-kick
I personally think vote-kick is just waiting to be abused.

some more food for thought ,just because you and others agree with each other does not make you right.

Yeah, this feature wouldn't get abused at all.

If that's the concern maybe a vote command for no late joining?

No, I meant, let the admin turn the setting ON ,on there server. Once enable then players could type vote-kick, then it shows a menu of ALL players (admin players are not kicable), then u select and a vote starts. I've seen this abused many times this is why it was disabled. But, if an admin can toggle its access then it will only get abused for a little while. The problems we would have early on was two leets would jump on the server and a 3rd would show and they would vote-kick him. But games like HL2 now have votable kicking now.

There is an option if the admin configures the mod, to only allow CC AFTER match starts by VOTING.(or even disable CC completely). Also the ability to be put back on your team/automatically after a lagout could be added.

True if >50% of the players vote YES then kick, but what if KIMP is on the server, I just lagged out, reconnected and he stole my spot, now why can't I vote-kick him? In the reality of the game, if players respected one another there wouldnt be limitations. Kimp could easily see I just reconnected then press 5 let my team proceed. Another interesting point, what if there are unbalanced teams the server could supply a frikbot for that round.

We never had good PR on Rage when vote-kick was enabled.

Hell to the no!! I can clearly see it being abused by the CA elitists. Also, somehow it seems that vote-kick only works when it's being abused (a-la kicking player A because player B started a kick vote because he doesn't want him on his team, waaaaaaaaaah) and never works when it's actually needed (a-la someone is toggling and his buddies won't vote yes).

the only people that would be against the idea of kick-vote are those that know they will be kick-voted due to their ***g0try. case-in-point: the poster before me. haha.

                        no,really.

It will definately get abused in some fashion or another, thats for sure.

Which that would be fine, I see no use for assholes in CA and as it got abused I would try to clean house.

This is a player initiated vote that requires 4/5 of the votes? So you are trying to get all these people to vote kick someone while they are playing. It is hard enough to get people to vote change a map/practice mode/reset. On top of all this hard work to vote kick someone, they are just going to hit their hotkey to reconnect and you have to go through the whole thing again.

Vote kick doesnt ban so people will just reconnect and rejoin or continue to be lame.

What are the odds of someone making it so that only 2 clients from the same i.p. can connect to the server at once? This would cut back on people running 4 clients to get the vote, etc

                            Turn it on, give-it-a-go

The reason that it is how it is right now is because before when 2 people from the same ip connect to a server the first person gets kicked, which can with the release of qkick.c, so this was fixed in proquake? to allow multiple connections from the same ip, one to fix the qkick.c exploit and 2 because home routers were getting more common alot of people have siblings which play quake on the same servers.
