      yeah well, while reading other msg boards, i've seen there are rumors that once the box office audience has quit they plan on doing the straight-to-dvd thing for their die-hard fans. it's quite possible the SAW franchise could go on for many, many years to come.

          No, Straight to DVD is a regular thing nowadays, for any movie. When was the last time you watched a new release on VHS, or waited more than four months from a theater debut for a movie to "release"?

          // Edit: Even 2 months?!?

            So I saw the movie Saw VI tonight... it was interesting... they followed up on the story lines from the previous films and explained a few things. If you're a fan of the Saw films you'll enjoy this one. To me, it was ok... I liked Paranormal Activity more I think

              i'm aware of that but point is the franchise won't die once they can't fill the theaters like it should. it's going to continue with straight-to-dvd because there are always 13-20+ year old wanna be goth kids and people who think it's cool to have seen every shitty b-horror flick.

              not hating on any of that, just putting it out there that saw ain't going anywhere no matter how bad it gets.

                i saw paranormal activity last night and I've got to say, it may not be the worst movie I've ever seen, but at the moment I can't think of any worse ones. from start to finish it was purely conventional......hauntings, ghosts, and things that go bump in the night--gimme a break. not a single original thought went into the making of that movie. at no point was i drawn into the movie or did I believe in the characters, because the whole thing was so predictable and trite. the one redeeming quality was that there seemed to be a lot of audience members interacting with each other.....2 girls in the theater screaming periodically (somehow not being able to predict the supposedly scary bits), and people snickering at the movie's attempt to be an honest ghost movie, etc. it was so bad but it didn't rise to the point of being interesting or funny because of its badness. did you notice how there were no credits at the end? that's because no one wanted to take credit for it, and also because no resources went into the making of the movie--it was filmed with a crappy, handheld camera and they did not leave the house the entire movie. i want my $11 dollars back.
