You mean the Quake-Life mod that Avirox wrote where you play Quake on Half-life maps?

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

What do you mean, host a server or join a game running on some server?

If you wanna join a game, check these quake servers or use the list on the right panel of quakeone.com. Make a note of the servers IP or hostname and port and start your quake client. In the console, type:

          Code:
          connect server:port
          Example
To play on the Euroquake server, type
          Code:
          connect bigfoot.quake1.net:26000
or since 26000 ist the Quake default port, omit it and just use
          Code:
          connect bigfoot.quake1.net
Hope that's what you wanted to know.

              Quake-Life:

              http://quakeone.com/forums/quake-hel...urce-open.html

More or less you have to compile it yourself (QuakeC compiler; FTEQCC is the one that must be used) and then use the pak files from Half-Life in a Quake gamedir, using FTEQW as the Quake client. And you do fteglqw.exe -game halflife +map c0a10

thanks for the help baker. I almost got it running--it loaded up right and everything, but I spawned off the map and couldn't use noclip because it said cheats were disabled. anyways, it is probably above my pay grade to sort it out. this is actually the first time i've ever compiled anything, and was surprised at getting as far as I did.

add +sv_cheats 1 to your command line BEFORE the +map whatever

Then you should be able to noclip your way around.

If you are that close, you might as well finish the job and play it

hmm, the results were interesting. i was able to walk around the map, and activate the "Hello Mr. Freeman" type sound bits, but there were no other entities. There was no gun model but when I hit attack a little spark appeared wherever i was aiming. weirdness!

Quakeworld engines default to deathmatch 1 [because the original Quakeworld did not have any sort of single player capability at all].

You might need to add +deathmatch 0 before +map <whatever> in the command line for it to work as expected.
