1. I look for the real issue.
2. I say "fuck it" to any emotion and address the real issue head on ignoring who said it and whatever potential personal offense I could have had or was supposed to have.
3. Look at the issue impartially and as a valid feeling of the person who stated the problem.
4. If possible, I try to explain what I was trying to do in one sentence.
I'm not saying I've always followed this, but 90%+ of the time I have.
I'm just saying that if someone types a wall of text, they aren't being an efficient communicator.

At the same time, someone who bothers to type a wall of text certainly is trying to be sincere and trying to communicate that and felt it was worth typing a few paragraphs of a run-on sentence.

But the thing is I was a forum-troll before I was an admin, so I often at other sites when I often needed to skillfully point out to some asshole admin why what that admin was doing was wrong.
But other times, patience and courtesy is a waste of time ... and really Souless did the right thing by just saying "fuck it" and banning Kimp. Sometimes you don't need a exercise a hell of a lot of patience, some people just like to fuck things up and they should be given the boot.
