I can't seem to get through this room... apparantly you're supposed to jump on each one of those wooden pegs sticking out of the wall, but I can't make it from the second peg to the third peg, even with the default ticrate...
I've played Travail through from start to finish several times.
Are you doing this online or offline?
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...
Hmm... I would call it "half-online"... the server's on my dedicated quake server box and I'm connecting to it through the network. Monster was with me too.
You might need to play with the default ticrate, assuming you haven't messed with any of the other variables (no doubt you haven't but still worth mentioning).
Back in 2006, RocketGuy and I discovered that some jumps you are supposed to be able to make with single player maps were not possible with the default sys_ticrate.

You could always play around with alternatives like messing with sv_gravity and so forth and maybe find some different solution.

Yeah but sv_gravity fundamentally changes the game mechanics. If I had the Travail source code, I could probably change it to get the player to jump higher...
I knew I could lower the ticrate to make it possible, but I really didn't want to have to do that. It will work for now. The Hub runs at .1 (it's in the code to run that high, heh), Rquake runs at .059 (lowered from .075), and Travail runs at .039 now to make that spot possible
