I believe that it will happen. I've one 95% done, but it's not feature-complete. Rook has indicated that he's doing one so I've let mine be.

Mind if I ask Rook a question too?

Is there any chance you or the guy that made the DP engine will add support to your engines for local splitscreen multiplayer? I believe one of the only mods for a PC game to do this was the doom Legacy mod for the doom games. Now before some of you scoff at how impractical playing on one comp with multiple mice and keyboards would be, let me tell you about a little thing called joytokey.

Joytokey (google it and find the maker's website at electracode) is an emulator that converts controller commands to keyboard commands. In other words, you can play ANY PC game with a controller.

Joytokey would make playing Quake locally in a multiplayer mode very easy. I'd temporarily sacrifice the accuracy of a mouse to play with my friends for some local co-op.

Is there any chance of this Rook?.

dxQrack, yes I have a working 1.90 directX 9.0, burried here somewhere.... Just not the latest version 2.0.10
I could post a link in the morning.

Joy2Key might sound as nice as satellite internet. On a last resort basis. There are weird angles u just cant get to at keyboard movements. I would rather support a 3d device instead. http://www.3dconnexion.com/
