in dm3, the blue powerup (quad) is the red players goal and the red powerup (pent) is the blue players goal.

how does that make sense? was it done to confuse ppl?

Pretend BLUE is DALLAS cowboys and RED is KC CHIEFS. For Dallas to score a touchdown they need to run the ball to the chief's goal. It was made because you start in your base, you need to rush to the ball 1st and then fight opposition to score. Otherwise its run for the ball then tuck tail and run back home, zzz.
It's just a differeznt dynamics not truely meant to be like CTF without a hook.
